We have been regular customers, frequently visiting the bakery shop whenever we are in the Sawtelle area. The service has consistently been good in the past. However, on the evening of 8/24/2024, we encountered an unpleasant experience. When we walked in, the young Asian woman working at the front gave us a side glance instead of a greeting, which we initially brushed off. However, during checkout, her attitude persisted. We asked a question what time do you guys close? to which she responded curtly, 10. This made us feel she was annoyed by the question and we felt unwelcome, as if we were not valued customers.

To add to this, we observed her smiling and being friendly with other younger customers who came in after us. This inconsistency in behavior left us feeling uncomfortable and puzzled about the situation. Then towards the 9:30 pm, she started collecting the chair so loudly around us, and she also took the chair next to me away and did not even ask us if we are still using it. Then we looked at her once she walked into the store, we found that she stared at my friend with dead eyes. We got so scared and left the patio. We hope this can be addressed, as it should not be a way to treat the customers. Never want to come back if she is still working here.

Recent favorite Asian bakery. Old fashioned Hong Kong style bakery. Their regular egg tarts are the very best!

Other items I also repurchase multiple times are pineapple bao, red bean bao, and green onion bao.

Really hope they stay here for a long time.

This bakery has decent selections and the staff is friendly. However, beware of the bogo specials, the ham and egg were not fresh, had to throw it away.

Before I left Los Angeles, I used to come here every week for their amazing Hong Kong-style egg tarts. I must had hundreds of their egg tarts over the span of a year.

I also recommend their Portuguese egg tarts, and hot half-and-half.

If y’all Viet-borned and love Viet KFC egg tart then definitely try their Portuguese tart out. Really scratch that itch

They rebranded to "Moon Plates" drastically reduced the quality of the bread selections and increased the prices. Cakes are still good, but spending over $5 for hotdog bread that's plain bread and half a hot dog is pathetic. These prices are almost double the prices of 85C.

Small bakery with good vibes! Metered street parking nearby in a busy area with lots of food and shops. Small tables available outside. Tried an egg tart, flaky crust (a bit oily) and soft filling, overall not bad for the price.

Bought 3 items and all not tasty. The tuna one is too salty, matcha one and blueberry one smell sour. Cost over $20 for 3
