My second visit, and it's still just as good as the first: the authentic flavors, fresh fish, and the perfect temperature, leaving the sensation incredible. The line was quite long at lunchtime; we waited about 30 minutes.

Came here on a Saturday night around 6pm and waited about 90 minutes for a table.
The kicker? You have to pay $10 to get in the lot before you even get the pleasure of waiting.
Food was good but not worth a 90 minute wait

Chose this place for a special occasion because the reviews were so incredible and we were so disappointed by the quality/taste of the sashimi. We ordered what we were told “everyone orders” and while the price was low you obviously get what you pay for. Normally I would let it go but we had one chance to get sushi on this trip and were looking forward to it for weeks and then had grocery store grade sushi. I’m in shock/confused by the mismatch between the reviews and what we experienced.

owner has attitude problem and rude! Don’t waste time there- over prices, no parking, long waiting line, rude owner!!
Sushi Gen is my absolute favorite Japanese sushi restaurant. If you’re craving sashimi or sushi, this is the place to visit — you’ll enjoy some of the freshest and most satisfying quality fish around.
This place is always crowded. Lunch, dinner, weekdays, weekends — there’s almost always a line. If you want to avoid waiting, try coming around 5 PM for dinner. That’s usually the best time to get in without a long wait.
Especially on weekends, the line gets even longer, so plan accordingly. But overall, the quality is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended.

This place is truly amazing. The food is delicious, the fish is fresh, and the flavors are unlike any other place. The prices are a little higher, but the quality is commensurate with the quality. The service is also excellent. The only thing we have to wait in line during lunch or dinner is the queue. The last time I was here, the queue was 15 minutes.

We visited during lunch time and had to wait for a table, so we decided to sit at the bar. One of the staff told us that if we sit at the bar, we can only order sushi and that each person must order at least four plates. That didn’t feel very pleasant or welcoming. We ended up spending around $120 for two people including tip, but nothing really stood out or felt worth the price. Overall, it wasn’t an impressive experience.
