Fresh, flavorful sushi with great variety at affordable prices. Service is fast and friendly, and every roll tastes amazing. A go-to spot for delicious sushi in a casual setting.

Delicious food, friendly people, and a great atmosphere for sushi lovers.
Every moment I spent at this spot just brought me down one star after the next for this review.
I stood in front of the cashier for probably 10 minutes before I was acknowledged by the woman working behind the counter. It seemed like she was making a shaved ice dessert so I didn't expect her to drop that and come take my order, but at least say something to a customer waiting right in front of you.
Once I ordered and sat down, I noticed how filthy the counters were. Sticky, sauces everywhere , food crumbs, hairs, sticky sauce bottles . . . it was a mess. Not a care in the world and absolutely no standards for a sushi restaurant.
When my order was handed to me, the napkins wrapped around the chopsticks were all wet and dirty because the girl didn't clean her hands before giving them.
I ordered the Sushi rush set ($25) and added the Salmon with lemon
and Toro with caviar ($13).
I don't know what was wrong with all this fish but none of it was fresh. By some miracle, it wasn't fishy or smelled funky so I figured I'd be okay to eat it.
Every piece of fish had the same taste. That taste? Nothing. There was no taste.
And the texture? Every piece of fish had the same, oddly mush texture.
The rice was hard, falling apart, and tasteless. Since sushi is supposed to be framed around the rice, you would think the rice is the most important factor. Doesn't seem like it here.
The cuts may look beautiful and you think you're getting at least decent sushi. But nothing about this is good. $50 down the drain.
Having eaten sushi at everywhere from supermarkets to michelin star restaurants here in LA and in Japan - Sushi Rush won't be on any of my must visit or return to lists.

What I thought was going to be my new favorite sushi place quickly turned into one that I sadly cannot recommend to anybody. After eating there I was afflicted with an as of yet unidentified illness that gave me four straight weeks and counting of diarrhea, which as of 7/24/25 has also sent me to the ER with a 101 degree fever. It was not even from one of the raw fish dishes--I ordered the California Roll, which probably says something about the restaurant's general hygiene. There are so many other excellent food options in Grand Central Market and Little Tokyo is so close by--save yourself the pain.

The sushi here was incredibly fresh and well-prepared. I was impressed with the quality, especially for such a casual spot. The staff was friendly and everything was served quickly. Highly recommend!

Delicious and very high quality, albeit expensive for the atmosphere.

When I came the ignored me and didn’t even clean the table. I got a crispy rice salmon it was super small literally snack size. The lady with the bun was eating from a bag with her bare hands which didn’t look very sanitary. I asked for a glass of water they didn’t even want to provide me one.

Stopped in to GC DTLA on 04/05 for a quick bite before heading home. Right off the elevator you walk down and see Sushi Rush on the lower level. And just by eyeing the customers food selections at a first glance - the food looked really promising so we took a chance.
We ordered the hand roll that came in three. It was fixed so you couldn’t make your own selections which is fine. We were in a rush anyhow. We also ordered the truffle sushi nigiri and both items were incredibly fresh.
The only downside was the cashier. When we asked where to wait for our food, she lectured us on “the food takes time” and didn’t exactly answer the simple question.

Sushi Rush at Grand Central Market is a must-visit for sushi lovers! We ordered the A5 Wagyu sushi and the Jumbo Scallop sushi—both were incredibly fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The quality of the ingredients truly stands out, making for an unforgettable sushi experience. Highly recommend!

The food here was awful. I should have known seeing that no one was ordering from the stand. Wish I could go back in time and talk myself into getting anything else.
Limited at-kitchen seating and wait time was long for my little California sushi but it was some of the best tasting sushi I’ve ever had

I used to order from this place almost every week - food was always consistent. But the cashier usually had attitude. Usually, I order spicy tuna hand roll without onions, because I am allergic to onions. Every time it was not a problem to do this modification. However this time the new cashier refused to do it. I guess I will never come back to this spot again.
