If you’re in Beverly Hills and love sushi, Sushi Tama is an absolute must.
My son went all in with the omakase experience and it was perfection from start to finish each piece felt like a small work of art, balanced and memorable. You could taste the chef’s care in every bite.
I ordered off the menu and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Everything they prepared was not only beautifully presented but also melt-in-your-mouth delicious. It’s rare to find a place where the service, creativity and quality all line up perfectly.
From the atmosphere to the attentive staff to the food itself, Sushi Tama exceeded every expectation. Whether you’re sitting down for omakase or just exploring beyond the menu, this spot delivers a truly special experience.
We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

What an experience !
The staff, food, ambiance - all amazing.
I have never had sushi like this. They take so much care in both quality and presentation. You won't go a minute needing something, they check on you at all the appropriate times.
I can't say enough good things.
Worth every last penny, it is more of an experience than just a meal.

Sushi was average at best. Read great things about it but felt mislead, which is why I decided to leave a review. I rarely do this and take no pleasure in giving a negative review but felt blindsided by the poor quality of the food. The service was disappointing and the busboy was intrusive as well.

Came here for omakase and it was amazing. Every course was a surprise and delicious as they change their menu throughout the season. Their ceramics were so beautiful and they also had my favourite bottle of sake!

What an amazing 18 course tasting menu prepared by chef Yoshi! My fiance and I went here for Friday night date night while visiting LA. We are looking forward to this Sushi tasting all week! And it outweighed my expectations! I loved the featured Shamu Shabu which was wagyu Style beef. Some of my favorite sushi rolls or the medium fatty tuna, shrimp, and uni! I loved the large chunks of fresh ginger per pallet cleanser between each bite. I always love watching Fresh Wasabi be made in front of me too, I feel like it's such a beautiful delicacy and just tastes so much better when you see your food prepared in front of you. What a wonderful experience! Highly recommend it to any sushi lover visiting LA!

Went for impromptu family dinner and was delighted by the food and service! My husband and I each had the omakase while our son had the salmon rice bowl. Everything was exquisite!

Sushi Tama is a true gem in the city for sushi lovers. The freshness is unmatched, with fish flown in daily from Japan, and the quality shines through in every bite. I’ve tried many sushi spots around town, but Sushi Tama has something extra—a touch of soul that makes you feel right at home. The ambiance is warm, and the staff adds to the inviting experience. For me, it’s the best omakase in the city, blending top-tier flavors with an authentic, welcoming vibe. That said, like all omakase, the prices are way too overrated—it’s ridiculous and not entirely justified.

So, you’re probably wondering why a place that I rated so highly for their food and service got a “one star” rating…
First, the costs at this restaurant are not high- they’re astronomical.
I ate a “lunch special” and had sparkling water.
Total bill? $58!!!
Was it good?
Absolutely.
Would I ever pay that much for that meal again?
Definitely not.
The real kicker came at the end, though.
They let me know that their”service charge” covered “gratuity” and any additional tip was up to my discretion.
How much, you might ask, was the “service fee?”
TWENTY PERCENT!!!
I usually tip 20% for decent service, 25% for good service, and have been known to tip as much as 50% for people that go above and beyond.
Gratuities are EARNED, not “deserved.”
Forewarned is forearmed.
While I still wish I had gotten up and walked out when I first looked at the menu, the food and service were excellent, just not what I consider a good value for the money.
Vegetarian options: They have several vegetarian options.
Dietary restrictions: It’s sushi. Not much can be done except to withhold ingredients.
Since it’s made fresh, I assume they can do this.
Parking: Parking is available at several ramps or on the street.
Kid-friendliness: This is not a place for kids- if only for the expense.
Wheelchair accessibility: A wheelchair may have some difficulty, but there may be a rear door.

Lovely spot for Sushi, very elegant and chic. I definitely enjoyed the sushi tasted very fresh and had that silky taste to it. It was also my first time trying the purple flowers I forgot the name but they were delicious. I'm unsure if its very busy but it looked almost empty when we arrived very calm and pretty. The little shopping center outside was also fun.
Dietary restrictions: Has gluten free options and others.
