this is definitely the place to get tuna. it’s absolutely delicious and so was the tempura dishes. the sushi rice was perfect. the salmon and albacore belly were fine. not as good as the tuna and i would skip the chawanmushi as it didn’t have as much dashi flavor. the asparagus dish was soooo good. very refreshing :)

Famous Japanese chain now in Ktown. It’s honestly fantastic, amazing otoro and all other tuna. Amazingly fresh and well priced considering the quality. Really friendly staff, from the host to all the servers. It’s getting busy so recommend booking if you can but you can also rock up and they will put you on a list.
Firstly, I have to say, the interior design and decor is so cute, And I forgot that I was in Chapman plaza for a moment. And that was actually really nice. I love kazunori, But something about eating there and being reminded that I'm in Chapman plaza kind of sucks. This place is nice in that I forgot I was home 🥲
So real review time, we got the deluxe kit for 55 bucks and the tuna kit for 45 bucks, honestly for $100 for me and my girlfriend, very reasonably priced, and that fish was definitely not some cheap crap just grabbed out of Hermosa Beach.
There are 10 pieces on each kit , we ended Very full and super satisfied.
We also grabbed a crab hand roll which was the most delicious I've ever had, and the paper was so easy to eat. Hate to say it but better than kazunori's hand rolls. 9$ a pop tho. Worth 🔥
There are a couple menu items that they don't actually have at their Japanese location like the yukke crispy rice. It's fire 🔥🔥
Not a long wait, only about 15 minutes on a Sunday night, granted it's still only been open for 2 weeks and quite new. Reservations through telephone until they create some system with OpenTable
No liquor license yet, brand new, but that's okay. In process!
Americans don't deserve the green tea quality, it's really good.
Some will say it's overpriced but as long as they keep this quality, it's worth.
it feels like I'm getting Japanese quality, but just paying American prices. You only get one or the other in LA. It's nice to have quality.

This is the sushi restaurant featured in the Yakuza games with the statue of the friendly portly gentleman beckoning you inside with outstretched arms! The sushi here was top notch and ordered via an easy-to-use tablet app. The orders were served very quickly, within minutes of ordering, and there were some out-of-ordinary items like Toban dishes (things braised in a nabe pot with a delightful sweet soy sauce, a must try). Everything was super delicious but my favorite had to be the Ama Ebi shrimp sushi, the shrimp were enormous and so succulent, I could have eaten an unholy amount of them. They also specialize in tuna and offer just about every type of tuna imaginable so this will totally be a tuna-enjoyer's heaven.
I came at an off-time, at around 2:30 on Saturday (30 minutes before they close at 3pm to re-open at 5pm) and did not have to wait to be seated. The parking can be quite harrowing, but that's LA Koreatown for you. I fervently hope this place opens a branch in Orange County (please! The demand is there!)

First trip SushiZanmai in Tokyo, Shinjuku district this past Feb. unbelievable quality and prices for a chain!
Now in LA, a dream come true.
quality is surreal, extremely fair prices.
Service is good. Working on a few hiccups but overall too notch!

Probably the freshest, best tasting cuts of tuna that we've ever had. Service was really really good as well but the tablet ordering system could use some work. It's like having one menu for the table. All in all, fantastic experience and it's off to a great start as one of the best sushi restaurants around.

walk don’t run…. LMAO jk jk. nah but for real, so i was on my way to kazunori for a little treat and walked by this place. lots of flowers on the outside and grand opening signs. i then checked on google and was sold by the first review and thought i would give it a try.
they’re running pretty good deals for their grand opening month, given the quality of the tuna. it was verrryyyy verrryyy good and fresh. my favorite was the fatty tuna nigiri. i ordered 3 in addition to other nigiri.
everyone seems really happy to work there and staff was very kind; i sat at the bar. the green tea is very good quality - so definitely beat kazunoris green tea bag with potential microplastics…AND free green tea refills 😍.
loved my dinner and would go back however it was definitely a higher price point than kazunori. i’m glad i got to indulge a bit with their grand opening deals. i suggest ordering a la cart! at least for this month… 😊
