I LOVE THIS PLACE!! My family has been going here for multiple years (they came from Japan) and we love this restaurant. The soba noodles and tempura are amazing. Also has amazing service with very kind staff.

I hate to write a review for this restaurant because it’s the best kept secret on the westside and I’m afraid the word will get out and I’ll lose my little slice of Japanese food heaven. I’ve been going to Taiko for well over 20 years and the quality of food, cozy atmosphere and exceptional service has always been fantastic and keeps getting better. The garlic edamame is a must starter and the pumpkin tempura roll is addictive. The broth in the hot Kake bowls has always been perfect and the Udon and Soba are always fresh. They only have 4 or 5 small tables outside but they always go the extra mile to make sure there is a heater nearby on a chilly night. If you decide to get take-out you won’t be disappointed as every single item is wrapped with care and portions are equal to eating in. When I got Covid one winter this was the only take-out I could stomach and it made my heart sing. Service is always above and beyond.
They just raised their prices (2025) but still competitive. ENJOY!

The Yakitori Don Combination is delicious and consistently good! The house salad dressing is so good my family and I purchase a bottle of it every time we come. The service is fast and great, I have never had a bad experience here. 10/10 recommend

We had a very memorable experience at Taiko! The sushi was excellent, as were many of the other dishes we tried. The service exceeded our expectations. They offer Kenzo wine which was a surprise and a treat having visited Kenzo winery in Napa. We’ll be back for sure! We highly recommend.

Service excellent. You can hear well because no music playing. Private booths also help for good conversation. Lots of different choices too.

Made an order through Uber Eats and it was hands down the WORST sushi I have ever tasted, I would give them zero stars if I could!

The food and service is good but the atmosphere is authentic but because of the way it is situated voices seem to bounce around making it very loud.

Taiko is our go to Japanese restaurant for almost 20 years. Something for everyone. Fabulous sushi. Interesting rolls and sashimi. Soba. Tempura. The miso cod dinner is beyond delicious and comes with great vegetables. We love the salad dressing and have even bought by bottle to use at home. We eat at the outdoor tables but inside are great private rooms in addition to normal tables. Lovely staff.

My new fav sushi spot in Brentwood! The spicy tuna crispy rice is so good and their miso soup has so much flavor. The best roll is the fire crunch, I highly reccomend you come and try!
