When I visited, Rodney was super helpful and kind-hearted. The staff was very attentive, and the place was very clean despite how busy it was. Food was delicious also!

Not the first Tender Greens I've been to, and but the first time writing a review for them. Most of the other locations I've been to, they are the same, above average food and fast service since it's a well managed chain. But this place the service was exceptional compared to the other locations. While dining in (patio area because of our pup) one of the worker checked up on us and other customers a few times for cleanliness and for water refills. He was also greeting people coming in and out and very well mannered.

Unacceptable wait. I ordered a side of salad and it took 25 min and I had to intervene. Ingredients that can be literally just thrown together. Will not be coming here again

“Reliable Simplicity”
Tender Green, which I first visited when I came to San Diego a few years ago, seems to have more branches now.
Tender Green is a cafeteria-style restaurant where you can choose a protein such as chicken, steak, tofu, tuna, salmon, etc. and choose carbohydrates and salad as a side to create your own dish. Although Tender Green itself has increased due to the craze for similar restaurants, it is a local restaurant. It seems like restaurants of this type have become noticeably more numerous.

I think this style of dining out culture may be the current trend. Tendergreen, the representative brand, is available in many famous shopping malls. It's nice to be able to eat something simple but hearty while shopping.
The steak menu is quite extensive and the fried chicken is plentiful. If you choose a side dish well, you will feel the envy of those around you, thinking, 'I wish I would have chosen that too~~~' haha.
In particular, grilled sweet corn is really delicious... (of course, American sweet corn is very sweet and delicious), but grilling it over an open fire adds more flavor.
The soup is a bit disappointing, but it tastes full of healthy feelings. I don't know what other states in the U.S. are like, but California is a blessing in disguise because it's easy to find Tender Green.

More than 15 minutes behind with my pickup. They didn’t prepare the desserts and the food sat cold while I waited for them to prepare the missed items. Didn’t acknowledge the mistake and acted like it was normal. Salmon portion seemed much smaller than usual.

Ok, been here 3 times. Experience today was a huge disappointment. Ordered a sandwich and a cup of rustic chicken soup. Sandwich was satisfactory but the soup was terrible.
It literally looked like someone dumped bottled water into a cup and tossed in some veggies and shredded chicken. Absolutely flavorless and immediately went into the trash. This was NOT chicken broth. I’ve had two orders of green pozole which was amazing.

Pleasant staff, delicious and healthy food, and beautiful presentation of the dishes. The place is clean, and the tables are promptly cleared after guests. The cashier helped with the menu selection. Definitely 5 stars.
