I rarely write reviews, but my experience at Tender Greens in the Century City Mall this past Saturday night was so upsetting that I feel it’s important to share — especially for parents and for the corporate team at Tender Greens who should be aware of what’s happening at this location.

I went in with my family and ordered a kids’ meal for my 1.5-year-old son. I specifically asked that the steak be cooked well done, knowing that undercooked meat isn’t safe for a toddler. When the food arrived, the steak was rare, red in the middle, and clearly undercooked. Mistakes happen, but it’s how a restaurant handles them that really matters — and that’s where this experience completely fell apart.

When I politely brought it to the staff’s attention, the manager’s response was shockingly rude and dismissive. Rather than apologizing or trying to make things right, they were hostile, unhelpful, and made me feel like I was the problem for raising a very legitimate concern. I was left trying to explain that this was a meal for a baby — and still got no empathy or solution.

By the time the issue dragged on, the rest of our food was cold, and I had to leave to get food elsewhere for my child. What should have been a simple, family-friendly dinner turned into an upsetting and frustrating experience.

For a restaurant that promotes “fresh, wholesome meals,” I expected far better service, professionalism, and basic food safety awareness. Serving rare steak to a toddler after being clearly told “well done” is completely unacceptable.

To the corporate Tender Greens team: please review the training, attitude, and customer service standards at your Century City location. Your brand’s reputation depends on how your local managers treat guests — especially families.

To future customers: double-check your food and be prepared that you may not get much understanding if something goes wrong. I won’t be coming back, and that’s unfortunate because we’ve always liked Tender Greens — until now.

Tender Greens never disappoints! The service and food here are always top-notch. The entire staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, and the consistency is truly impressive. Chris and Kevin are absolute superstars—friendly, professional, and always on point. I come here almost every day, and it’s because of both the quality of the meals and the phenomenal team that makes the experience special. Highly recommend!

Absolutely horrible experience. Tender Greens is a complete disaster when it comes to service. It takes FOREVER to get your food, and the staff cannot seem to figure out the simplest orders. Customer service is terrible.

My husband ordered a hamburger and asked for only three things on it: pickle, mustard, and onion. They asked him about FIFTEEN times what he wanted, and still couldn’t get it right. It’s unbelievable how disorganized this place is.

If you value your time, skip this place. Horrible, horrible, horrible.

I ordered online for pickup. At inside the restaurant. Made my movie on time. I highly recommend the Thai steak bowl.

Food was cold as served and waited over 30 minutes for food to come out . I and my girlfriend ordered shrimp plates and were provided poor service , the food was cold and bland . The shrimp was old and had no flavor , the potatoes were okay , the cookie was amazing. The vegetables weren’t tasteful at all. Everything was bland and tasteless, you guys need to step it up in every aspect ; respectfully.

I always recommend my favorite chain restaurant. In any Tender Greens in the city the food is always tasty and high quality.

the food is always amazing and tastes so good. the restaurant itself is so cute and such a vibe it has clean cafe vibes with both indoor and outdoor seating i just love coming here. the people working here are so kind and fun as well!!!!

It’s always such a nice experience when I go in, Rosa and Rodney are such sweet managers that make it feel like a home-cooked meal!
