Been coming here since I was a kid, back when Koreatown still felt a little rough around the edges and you could smell the grill before you even saw the sign. They’ve been feeding me my whole life—no frills, no gimmicks, just the kind of food that earns its place on your personal map of the city.

The Thai tea still comes cold and sweet enough to cut through L.A.’s stickiest summer afternoons. The satay—juicy, charred, and unapologetically rich—still tastes like it did when I was ten years old, watching my dad pick apart a steaming bowl of Seven Seas soup like it was his private ritual. Pad Thai? Always a knockout. Sweet, savory, tangy, with just enough fire to remind you this isn’t your average neighborhood takeout.

It’s the kind of place you measure time by—not in years, but in meals. A Koreatown staple that doesn’t just feed you, it becomes part of your story. Four stars only because perfection leaves no room for nostalgia, and here, the nostalgia is half the flavor.

The grilled chicken was small and a bit overcooked. The ribs and pad thai were good.

Odd smell when you come in which may be from the fish tank. Bathroom was not very clean.

Now, the food. The drunken noodles is one of the best dishes I have ever been served. We both ordered teriyaki chicken w extra fried rice. That’s was good. Maybe very good.

But the drunken noodles were absolutely amazing.

I’ve been coming to Thai Original Barbecue for years, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently excellent, with a great selection of authentic dishes. The flavors are always spot-on, and the service is friendly and efficient. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious Thai cuisine!

I pick up to go the Thai Bbq dish and it was very over cooked, and stale, it had been cook a few days before kept on a warmer, so the meet was dry like beef jerky. And the place was really dirty with food sitting on the floor next to the bathroom. Very bad, and disgusting. I would NOT come back or recommend.
