Love this store! The buns are soft and fluffy. We've got the pork belly, kalbi and chicken. My favorites are pork belly and kalbi beef. The chicken has caramelized fried onion, that was a good touch as wellS The fries were bomb too. Great spot, good quality over price!

I flagged this place after seeing it on DDD and it did not disappoint. They were out of the pork belly, which was a bummer, but we ended up getting 4 different buns. Our favorite was the katsu and the veggie (surprisingly). We also got the corn cheese, but ended up eating the buns first. Recommend doing it the other way around next time. Really cute little shop that has plenty of parking near by. Will definitely be back to try the pork belly next time we're visiting LA.

I liked the chicken katsu bun I ordered - the gojuchang sauce is my favorite. The chicken katsu bowl was tasty but very dry. There was no salad dressing on the lettuce. Upon asking the staff for sauce, I was notified there was a charge but again, the bowl was very dry and the chicken nearly overly-fried. When I sat down at the table, there was a sign saying 3 buns for $12 which the lady at the register didn't mention so I was disappointed we missed this opportunity. I wanted to like this place and was really looking forward to trying but I was unfortunately underwhelmed by the customer service.

So yummy! I can’t wait to go back. The spicy pork bao hit so many flavor notes… everything was just really yummy.

Yesterday I got my usual three buns, fries and some water. Order of fries came to me, unusual that they gave my order separate but I assumed that some sort of delay was happening since I noticed other people getting their stuff way after as well. These two girls sat next to me maybe 30 minutes after I got there and yeah still no buns. 20 minutes after that they received their food. That's when I got up to ask what happened to my order and they didn't know either I assume when they gave me my fries they set it aside as complete. I did t get mad but I just asked for a refund, I don't think they know how to cause who would ask for a refund here but yeah I just took my buns and ate them in my car cause I didn't wanna be in there anymore. I just wanna know what happened. I still love bun shop but man that was a bummer, waited an hour for that.

Fair, tasty, but hoped for more of a wow factor. We tried 5 of the buns and were overall decent. Service was a bit slow as there was only one other customer there. I believe we tried the. Spicy pig, beef, pork belly, spam and i think the last was a special maybe; i cant remember. It solved our hunger at the time.

Ordered 4 buns, chicken wings, and side of fries. The buns were disappointing I was expecting so much more. Just plain Jane type of meats, they needed extra sauce to go on them. I won't order again. The chicken wings were the best part I would def order they were jumbo and the sauce was awesome that they were coated in. The fries (garlic) were soggy and so think idk I wouldn't order.

Nice chill place, there's parking in the Banchan lot next door or street parking. Go at happy hour for better deals on the buns! You go up to the front to order and they bring you your food. Price is pretty reasonable and the fries are pretty good. The deep fried Oreos are good, a little salty, and the green tea ice cream it comes with was a little melted and didn't really taste like anything but still pretty decent overall.

A bit disappointed but nevertheless a good cheap eat in LA. I was really excited to see the highly reviewed bao bun shop close to my home. My friend and I were able to snag the happy hour deal (3 buns for $10.) I got the kalbi, katsu, and pork belly and all three were just OK. I felt that the flavor of the meat was lacking and there wasn't enough topics to add to the meat or texture of the bun. The pork belly could have been cooked more and I wish the skin was crispy! The baos were very small and 3 barely filled me up. As someone who enjoys the strong flavors and fun textures of bao buns I was disappointed in these buns! I go to Bao Hogs in Orange County and they are league better than this place. I would only come during the happy hour if I'm really craving bao buns. The vibe of this restaurant is very solid and I appreciate the kindness of the staff.

I love the ambience of this place. It’s a quiet with a nice slow RnB music, wood finished tables and modern steel seating. Staff was very friendly and the ordering is easy. They give you a menu and when you’re ready you order up front. The happy hour is perfect because it’s not rushed and they have a small but delicious selection like it’s been carefully selected.I order the Bao Buns: Spicy Pig, Spam, and Dubu (fried tofu). The Spicy Pig was delicious and a good amount of spiciness and flavor with cilantro aioli. The Spam was not my favorite but some bites were a delicious greasiness with a little sriracha. The Dubu smelled amazing for fried tofu and presentation was beautiful for all Bao buns. I highly recommend if you’re in the area looking for delicious, carefully crafted bao buns!

Menu: I went on a Monday during happy hour (4pm-7pm). It was 3 buns for $10 and $1 off sides. For the buns, I ended up choosing the kalbi, pork belly, and katsu buns. The bao buns itself was fluffy. I thought the katsu and kalbi were the better ones out of the 3. The corn cheese had bacon inside of it and topped with green onions. It was surprisingly a little spicy which gave it a nice touch! Interior/Exterior: There's some cool graffiti outside the shop. No outdoor seating. Indoor seating is small and limited. Parking: It can be a little tough to find parking in this area especially on weekends. There's some metered parking on the street. I was able to find a spot on the parking lot right across from it.

The Bun Shop is a really great place to grab a comfy and decent meal in LA. The buns are soft and offer many different proteins. I personally like the TBS Bowl (rice bowl) with pork belly as my favorite. The food was great, but my friend told me that the breakfast bun was a little too oily and that the fries were underdone as they were simply too soft and had no crispy outside texture. Regardless! The food was great!
