I've been to several Captial Grille locations which include Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Las Vegas, etc. and I have to say this was the worst location I've ever been to. My partner and I made a reservation here for our anniversary at 9:00 pm. Upon arrival, we're met with the valet person and the doorman(I suppose) on their phones having off-the-clock conversations with vulgar language, not prompt on getting guest cars, and laughter. Then we go inside to confirm our reservation 15 minutes early for the host to tell us the table isn't ready. Keep in mind when we booked the reservation they had tons of reservations which means they need to pay attention to their system because it's faulty. So, after a few minutes, we decided to eat at the bar because we'd eaten at other locations and the bar service would be just as superb as the main dining service but we were mistaken. The bartender (tall white gentleman) did not acknowledge us at all the entire time only for a short woman to come over to serve us and forget our orders, not serve everything accordingly such as the bread or crushed pepper for our salad, or even her name for that matter. We had two crab cakes which were too soggy and cold which meant it sat too long in the window, and a blue wedge salad which was not fresh at all. Then to make matters worse as soon as another couple came and sat beside us the other bartender I've mentioned, acknowledged them as if we hadn't sat there the entire waiting for him to say something to us at this EMPTY bar. Not to mention, the woman didn't say anything about our anniversary or offer anything extra that all the other Captial Grille locations would. We were so disgusted with the service that we decided to finish our appetizers, and overpriced lemon drops, and leave. We would be a fool to spend any more money on bad service. This location did not uphold The Captial Grille's name when it came to class on service, clientele, or taste. I would not recommend this location.

Their service is great and very welcoming, they even gave us a dessert for my grandma’s birthday. However their food misses their mark. I ordered the Bone-in Kona Crusted Dry Aged NY Strip with Shallot Butter and asked for it rare, but they failed to cook it well. Rather than a good, intense crust and a more red interior, it was just cooked less. My family’s steaks were medium rare and medium, though they were pretty salty. The same goes for the sides: the Brussels sprouts and the wild mushrooms.

Yesterday I hosted a large luncheon party for my mom’s 90th birthday at Capital Grille, downtown LA. My favorite restaurant of all time did not disappoint. The service from planning, to table details, to actual execution was flawless. Superb high quality food with a custom menu and the best champagne and wine pairings. The serving time for all of my guests was synchronized and the overall presentation was perfection. The overall team from the event director, to the chef and his staff, to the AMAZING waitresses left my entire party in awe of what turned out to be the most memorable celebration ever! I dine at Capital Grille frequently, but they just took it up a notch for this event. The attention to detail was extraordinary. The food was superb, let me repeat myself because I want to be emphatic enough, so that you understand that CG must get on your bucket list right away. The custom menu was cooked to absolute perfection. I am so grateful for this experience and from now, every event I plan will be here for sure!!! Well deserved shout outs to LisMarie, Dora, Brittany and McKayla…you guys rock!

Capital Grille brings high class east coast vibes in this warm, welcoming & elegant location in Downtown LA. My wife and I were treated like royalty at pur cozy little booth when we were greeted with some delicious Rose bubbles for our Valentines Day dinner. The crab cake amuse bouche gave into half a dozen of fresh oysters that tasted like they were hand picked out of the ocean just for us. The calamari and sweet cherry peppers were plump and juicy with an amazing breading. We then proceeded to have the wedge salad with plump juicy bacon bits, and the Prime Tomahawk with Porcini Rub will be something I am sure my wife and I will want to return to periodically in the near future. Our server Brittany and the manager Patrick made an already magical experience, memorable. Thank you guys ?

Loved everything but the temperature of the restaurant. Quite cold. Manager did try to warm it up but not really enough. They did prove a shawl for me, though, which I truly appreciated.

Good food, great service. Lobster bisque and creme brulee cheesecake were amazing. The wait staff is friendly, helpful and on their game. We enjoy dinner there every time. Just wish there was a Capital Grille closer to home.

Went for a company team-building dinner. Service is exceptional! Our server was very knowledgeable and even offered items from a secret menu!I ordered the Chef's Suggestion Porcini Rubbed Bone-In Ribeye with 15-Year Aged Balsamic with New England Clam Chowder. The chowder was excellent with the oyster crackers. The crunchy cracker texture contrasted very well with the very creamy clams in the chowder. The ribeye serving was huge and cooked just as I asked (medium rare). However, I wasn't a big fan of the porcini mushroom crust and balsamic on the ribeye. It sounded good on the menu. I expected the mushroom crust and balsamic to give substantial extra flavor but I was disappointed. The ribeye steak was still good but just not as flavorful as I thought. In hindsight, I was thinking I probably should have just ordered the regular ribeye without the mushroom crust and without the balsamic. Maybe next time!Oh, and the lobster mac and cheese side is highly recommended!

We usually receive excellent service but this time was the worst service ever by our waiter/server. Condescending behavior and passive aggressive neglect. The bartender gave us better service at our table. The food was delicious as usual and very nice atmosphere.

This is my first Capital Grille visit in LA. We decided when we got there to sit at the bar to watch the game instead of standard seating, and the hostess accommodated us. I was impressed by the detail on my plate. It wasn't anything elaborate, but the chef taking the time to find different sized watercress to stack made me really appreciate her effort. Mckenzie, our server/bartender, was very nice and had a huge personality. Great experience. I'll be back when in town.
