This is a live upscale venue and restaurant offering entertainment nights. The highlights here for me, are the karaoke nights which I believe are on Mondays or Tuesdays. They have bar seating if you’re not with a big crowd. The Dj’s sound quality wasn’t to on point to my standard because I had to work a little too hard to express my vocal abilities, but at the end of the day, I had a fun karaoke time here. It’s a really nice set up and it draws in big crowds. They have a variety of food options. The servers and bartenders are customer friendly.

I did have one experience with a bartender employed here when I was at another similar venue due to a mutual acquaintance who we both knew as a customer at the District. My experience with your bartender at the other venue while she was still a District employee was very off putting, catty, unwarranted, and a bad representation of the District although she was off duty. I certainly don’t want to be served by her at District anymore and hopefully she’s not even there whenever I do return for a visit. I perceived that she got too personal with a customer and showed aggression towards me out of her own personal insecurities because I clearly was not competing for her tipper’s attention at this other establishment we were all at. We were not even together because made sure that it stayed way. If she needs to go out with her regular District customers outside of work to keep getting tipped, that’s her problem, not mine. I even tipped her well as your bartender at the District because she did such a stellar job at bartending and recommending the perfect drink for me. It was just unfortunate how she behaved towards me outside of work all because she had a crush or maybe even personal relationship with her District customer who happens to be a mutual acquaintance. When bartenders become infatuated and unprofessional with customers, it’s bad on the company who is complicit and negatively affects customer to business relationships. It is unethical practices & behavior and shouldn’t be condoned be management. It should be identified, investigated, addressed, & prohibited.

Some customers actually aggressively pursue relationships with bartenders. I understand the chase game. At the end of the day, it falls on the bartenders to be professional on duty and neutral/cordial to your District customers off duty or risk loosing potential regular customers. It’s really imperative that company and management upholds high ethical standards, practices, and behaviors amongst employees, customers, even within the organization among managers & employees.

Management should be proactively involved in upholding employee ethical standards/behavior because sometimes it’s obvious, but many time it’s not. Employees are sneaking around and dating their regular customers, possibly for unethical reasons or purposes. Both bartenders and customers and can be place in a vulnerable position/situation at your establishment and it’s very important management take the necessary actions once these vulnerabilities become apparent or brought to light.

This is an honest review/feedback of my experience real life experience at the District, Crenshaw. Hopefully this gets someone’s attention and sheds light on employee/customer engagement & relationships.

I was nervous about singing in front of my hometown community. But I managed to pull myself up by both bootstraps & together for the sake of using my talents, sharing the gift that I have to my very own. Community. Thank you for having me.

Was on vacation with the family and was a great place for dinner. Went back for take out the next night and the entire staff remembered us. Can’t beat the team.

One of the few places left for us by us. Owned by us enjoyed by us...the turkey burger is phenomenally delicious, fries seasoned well. Taquito appetizer is great. Will be back when in town!!!

The bartender B (British) was so sweet. She was so attentive, and we never had to find her if we needed anything, she was on top of it. The drinks she made were hella fire and the vibe there was 10/10

She was the most charismatic bartender I’ve ever had! I do not come to the District unless she is there. She IS THE EXPERIENCE! Shout out to Chicago baby!

Food is good but can be pricey. I especially like their wings. I’ve never had a drink I like here, but maybe because I like a good margarita and theirs is just awful. If you like the Dizzle or basic well drinks you’ll be just fine. The music and vibes are good. Service can be quite slow regardless of how many people are there. Staff has always been nice.

The servers always act upset you’re there. Maybe because I’ve only come in big groups but cmon. Good & drinks are yummy tho.

This is a beautiful restaurant, but not very family friendly. The music is way too loud and no changing table in the bathroom. However, the staff was attentive Swift, and very friendly. The food was a little disappointing the flavor did not carry through for me with their freight items. The fried lobster was flavorless. The fried chicken was OK, but dry.

I would definitely go back for drinks and possible appetizers but definitely not with my children.
