Put the waffle in a box with no holes in it. It became soft, not sad.

EXCELLENT service, especially Johanna! I APPRECIATE how friendly and kind she was to explain EVERYTHING and even gave me an ice cream sample because I wasn't sure which to choose! The waffles left a lot to be desired and the ice cream was not my favorite! I didn't have high expectations but I did have SOME, especially when their cost is considered.I've returned several times to try different options and I won't be returning unfortunately.I even had my partner try their shake and she didn't like it either. Sad but true!It is over priced and under delivers in the tastebuds department, but the service is TOP NOTCH!

First time ever visiting the dolly llama! Let me preface this with I am a huge fan of sweets, especially ice cream! So I was thrilled to try this place! After taking in the menu and eliminating the things I cannot eat because of allergies (nuts —> Nutella) we decided on the Dolly Dream bubble waffle!Overall a 3.5! They hand you a HOT waffle in a paper container, though it is constructed in a wire rack they do not give you those to dine-in and enjoy your treat! Our server was amazing (she deserves 5 stars) and even though she was all by herself she still took the time to explain the differences in waffles and how you build your own dessert! Huge ups to Linda M!!Back to the review, the waffle was very thick and without the ice cream it would have been hard to swallow. Now I’ve given this place a 3.5 because though it was delicious it didn’t create that sensual omg experience in your mouth, I admit had I not deviated from the signature selection with cookie butter instead of Nutella and mint n chip instead of blue cookies and cream (not a huge fan of dye) it may have been different. But honestly it was delicious and something new for my palate. It’s in DtLA so there’s other things to overcome but it’s a cute date night or random sweet-tooth hip vibe kind of place. I wouldn’t bring kids to this particular location but I would to the establishment.Kid-friendliness: The Dolly Llama itself serves ice cream however it is located in an area I wouldn’t take children.

First time trying The Dolly Llama, the server was very helpful in explaining how the waffle dessert works. Ended up with the Dolly’s Dream sun mint n’ chip and cookie butter sauce. The warm bubble waffle with ice cream allows it to go down smooth, the waffle is very thick.

Came here for the first time .. one thing i hate about downtown is parking but going to Dolly was worth the trouble ! Everything from the ice creams to the waffles to toppings were good , just wish the portions were a lot bigger . Was our first time here & service was good , she was really patient with us . This place looks small but is big , there is an upstairs also !

The Dolly Llama is an ice cream and waffle house whose confections are both delicious and tasty. The waffles are how a waffle should taste. A nice touch of sweetness, with a pillowy, soft interior that comes with a nice exterior crunch. The ice cream was creamy and satisfying. I chose the cookie monster, but anything with cookies in it makes me smile. The DTLA location gets too be a little intriguing due to where it is. Downtown Los Angeles has seen better times, and businesses have to work with the situation that surrounds them. The staff was friendly and immensely helpful despite the prevalent issues, so perhaps it's better to visit during sunlight hours. Overall, I enjoyed it.

Went last night on 9/15 around 11:20pm and this location closes at 12am. When we walked in, they told us immediately that they had no more waffles because they were closing. So we took a step back to look at the menu to see what else we wanted because that was the main reason we came and we finally decided what we wanted it was 11:26pm now and we started to order our shakes, and right when we ordered one of the employees came out and notified the one who was taking our order that there was no more shakes even though they still had 40 minutes till closing and I know they usually give the workers an extra 30 minutes after closing to do all the cleaning. Very horrible service will not return ??????????

The Dolly Llama was a sweet sensation! The creative and scrumptious waffle-based desserts were a true delight. The vibrant and Instagram-worthy atmosphere added to the experience. A must-visit for dessert enthusiasts seeking unique treats and a fun dining environment. Can't wait to satisfy my sweet tooth again!

Had a nice dessert here. Got the Bubble waffle dollys dream. Ice cream was great. Brownies were soft. The waffle was sweet and soft and not dry at all. Would come back for sure!
