A nice little spot! Good was excellent! Took some friends and they had the chilaquiles while I had the pozole! Tasted amazing! Definitely would return! Authentic flavor! Service was quick! Small location. So not for big crowds!

This is my go to spot every morning. Born and raised in Boyle heights and I will continue to support our Latin-owned small businesses. Nacho is the name of the cashier and he is so sweet to me everyday and my dogs. The food is great, the price is great, the whole atmosphere is what keeps me coming back. Thanks for your excellent service! :)

My cousin Alicia told me the other day of a great little restaurant in East Los Angeles. She said, try their menudo and pozole during the weekend and their sándwiches. I traveled 20 miles today and man was I surprised. My friend Agustin and I ordered the pozole and menudo soup. Theses are truly authentic soups from Oaxaca Mexico (Oaxacan version). The owner Ignacio prepares these soups early in the morning so they are made fresh during the weekend. Not sold during the regular week. When i tasted the pozole blanco you can savor the fresh cabbage, fresh cilantro and tender pork. The broth is light and savory. The menudo is to die for. You can taste the delicious tripe with a light broth, and delicious chili paste. Both soups are not greasy at all. Now, we also ordered the pastrami sandwich and it was prepared in a bolillo bread. It was delicious as well. They have pastries and hot and cold coffees. The restaurant can sit around fifteen patrons inside and another twenty outside. The service is outstanding because Igancio and his team treat you like family. I encourage everyone to come and visit The Evergreen cafe. These small restaurants need our support and these folks are passionate about their culinary craft. Please come and visit and enjoy a taste of authentic Mexican cuisine in Boyle heights. What a little find. I ordered the ham and cheese egg croissant and it's so yummy. Reasonably priced and they have my favorite... Have'a chips yum! Owner was kind and helpful

The service was friendly and polite, however the coffee was weak and the “everything”bagel was not toasted or an “everything”bagel. I got a plain barely warmed up bagel, that was pressed on a panini press. Glad they were affordable but not worth a second visit.

They don't have good coffee. If you're a coffee lover, stay away from this place.
