Thanks for all the good times Hungry Cat! My favorite restaurant in Hollywood for many years. According to my records, I ate here at least 157 times: the first on Sept 11, 2005 and the last on April 17, 2019 (= a lobster roll, of course). Thank you to Chef Lentz for bringing the first grown-up restaurant to a neighborhood previously relegated to tourists. I almost always sat at the bar, so thank you to Jake, Danielle, Bob, Mari, Nikki, Joseph and other bartenders who made it a friendly and welcoming place. Many memorable meals with many good friends.

I met my husband here. Will miss you, Hungry Cat!

Sometimes I go to a place for specific dishes. Here, it is Clam Chowder and a crab sandwich. They are delicious. Its a little pricey for buying fresh fish, but they are the only fish market in the neighborhood. They welcome corkage. So bring a bottle of wine.

And; went in here just today... and was informed it was their last day open. So sad. Someone will have to recommend a new place for me - as I cry myself to sleep tonight.

Good bye, The Hungry Cat. Some of my best meals in the last decade were at The Hungry Cat. My OG favorite Suzanne Goin restaurant. It's the end of an era, first Nozawa (Studio City), then WD-50 (Lower East Side), then Joe's (Venice), then Annisa (West Village), now The Hungry Cat (Hollywood). It's the dying of the cozy, local, supernovas in LA and NY. The Hungry Cat under Suzanne Goin and husband was Michelin one star worthy. At less, we still have Nancy Silverton in LA.

Loooong wait times for everything. Decided not to eat food other than salad and had a total of 2 drinks over 2 hours. Glad we didn't eat cooked food. Would have taken 3 hours. Server was great though. Not her fault.

Our waiter disappeared. the wait was long probably unusual I hope since it was a first time, can't confirm. The only thing really stamding out is the 3 tiers tower seafood. Other than that nothing special

The food we had tonight was beyond disappointing. I can't believe how plain everything was. We had the ceviche and sea food stew and we were surprised how bad it was. It sounded so good on paper, but when we tasted it, it was not what we had imagined. Service was great and the ambiance was nice, but our food was not great.

3rd time eater; first time reviewer. And now, from what I hear, I won't be able to review again--for this wonderful restaurant is closing. Even with that cloud over the heads of staff and chefs, we still received an excellent meal complemented with excellent service--Thanks Jay and others for making our meal (and birthday celebration) memorable. My advice is that, if anyone wants a gourmet meal created by a wizard kitchen and served by an attentive staff, then he or she better reserve a table soon.

The dinner was tasty but the waitress had to flirt with a producer looking white guy and attend to all the other white people before acknowledging us, a brown couple. The wine came half way through the meal and we had to wait 30 minutes after asking for the check. I guess implicit bias is delicious

Otherworldly good! I just had the fried oyster and pork belly buns, and I am completely sated. I have to come here more often. This is probably the best restaurant in Hollywood! YUM!

seafood, my favorite treat. Entered near eleven, it wasn't packed. It has a good interior. Menu is like a cafe in Indianapolis I liked.

The food was to die for! The service exemplary! Tucked away a little from the noise of the street.

Crab legs were good. But you do not get anything else with them for the high price. My amount seemed skimped on compared to the other person in the party. I have had 1/2 pound before elsewhere(for less money) and it was more than I got this time.

Dinner after our theatre visit. Food was great. Had only small dinner, clam chowder. Pork belly and fried oyster buns and fried cauliflower. All really tasty. Also good cocktails.
