Wonderful menu and friendly staff. Great outdoor seating, an excellent place for lunch, brunch, and dinner.

I am never disappointed when I come here! Everyone is so friendly and the food is great. The Mac n Cheese is fantastic and I love the fries with a side of garlic aioli. It's small and intimate which is perfect for a date night.

We went on a Sunday about 1:00 pm with some friends. I thought that missing the Sunday brunch would be better. We would miss the crowd an long wait. The place wasn't busy when we arrived but there was only one server, that I could see. There was the busser and what I thought to be the manager. We were brought water to the table but it did take a while to have the server come to us for a drink order. We ordered all at once.I ordered Steak & Eggs -- Flank steak and fried eggs, served w/ garlic mashed potatoes. I found the potato choice odd. I should have asked for regular potatoes but I wanted to be adventurous. If you follow my reviews then you'll know that I like a hot salsa. The bottle on the table didn't have a label but I think it was Cholula. I would have preferred a nice salsa to go over the eggs. The steak was delicious, cooked just right. The eggs were good as well as the mashed potatoes, they still didn't go but they were good.I don't think I'd go back. It was a nice lunch, the conversation was great, but this Kitchen was not welcoming to me.

A very quaint little eatery mostly designed for romantic couples or even pairs of great friends. Rustic decor highlights the bones of the old building in which it occupies. Sunday brunch menu is full of wonderful delights that are sure difficult to decide between. We started at the top of the menu and ordered the hot n fresh donut holes ensconced in cinnamon sugar and ready to dip into the side of caramel sauce. Truly an indulgent dish that is a great ending to a savory brunch item. The Dungeness crab cake Benedict featured appropriately sized crab cakes atop an English muffin (perfectly prepared by the way) with an over easy fried egg and Romesco sauce and a side of green salad and roasted breakfast spuds. We split the main dish between dear one and moi, finding it just the right amount of feast. We parked on the street in the nearby neighborhood. Not sure if there is parking in the back.

I've come here a few times. The food is pretty good and service has been good inside. However, the last two times we have sat outside (and only times) service was not great. It took a while for a server to come to our table to order and also to get the bill. It seems that they don't check on patrons as frequent as inside.

Would not recommend this restaurant. I ordered a cheeseburger, which was $17. Despite me ordering it medium rare, it came out well-done, which meant it was practically flavorless. The restaurant is small, dark, and kind of depressing. For these prices, it would be good if they at least had a free bread basket, but they don't. There are better restaurants in LA. I would skip this place. Although I can't really speak to the rest of the menu.

What a perfect way to start your day! The space was cute and quiet, the staff was friendly, unlimited coffee refills, and delicious food. I got the crab cake Benedict with potatoes and the side salad. I somehow missed that the hollandaise would be a romesco sauce but I'm so glad it was. It brought out all the flavors and if anything I wish there had been more sauce. The salad was dressed well but I will say the potatoes were a little too salty. All good - I'll be back!

The Kitchen has been a neighborhood staple for over 20 years and has consistently served excellent classic American food at reasonable prices. The staff is unfailingly friendly and helpful so dining there is a pleasure. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but my number one favorite is the buttermilk fried chicken which comes with garlic mashed potatoes and succotash (which you don't see very often and is delicious). Be sure to ask for extra gravy. Close behind that is their meatloaf, also served with mashed potatoes and succotash. And another must-try is their pistachio-crusted salmon. My vegetarian friends always order the grilled veggie stack which piles squash and eggplant. portabella mushrooms and sautéed spinach with grilled onion, buffalo mozzarella, and pesto on focaccia. Doesn't that get your mouth-watering? They have a great brunch too. And you can always start or end your meal with a drink at Akbar next door.

Without a doubt, the best fried chicken I have ever had.
