I used to come here every Friday, but this time I stopped by on a Sunday. The bartender was very friendly, and I was watching someone playing with a kind of spinning toy. Out of curiosity, I decided to try it myself for the first time. Unfortunately, I accidentally broke a small part of the equipment. The person asked for compensation, and I immediately paid $40 without any argument.
What surprised me was what happened next: the bar’s security guard, Alex, came over and suddenly kicked me out without any discussion. His reaction felt unnecessarily aggressive and extreme, especially since I had already resolved the issue respectfully. It honestly seemed like he had been waiting for an excuse to treat me this way, as I’ve noticed similar behavior from him before.
This kind of behavior is unacceptable. Guests shouldn’t have to deal with hostility from security when they are being cooperative and respectful.

This bar nightclub in Highland Park hosts a wide array of events including karaoke nights, drag shows, live band concerts, and more.
I attended an event on a Sunday, Bear Garden: LABussy, a vendor mart and body positive event. Drink are good and the signature cocktails are unique for sure. There's a bunch of seating inside and some limited seating on their patio.
They open at 5pm daily, but for Bear Garden they opened a little earlier at 4pm. So events have covers, but they're reasonable.
Restrooms are clean and easy to access.
Parking is street and can be a journey as they like to say. Service is great and the bartenders are outstanding.

The bartenders here are honestly some of the best employees ever, they’re friendly, hardworking, and make the experience inside enjoyable. BUT This is not a safe environment. Security seems to pick and choose who they protect, and if something serious happens, yo u can’t count on them to step in or even call the police. It’s disappointing to see a business allow this kind of behavior. Honestly, it’s not worth supporting a place that overlooks safety and creates such an uncomfortable atmosphere.
Unfortunately, all of that gets ruined the moment you step outside because the security is absolute trash. They don’t protect guests, they let violence happen, and they won’t even call the police when things get out of hand. It’s disgusting that a business allows this no matter how good the drinks are, it’s not worth risking your safety.

The barkeeper Christian is so very nice, extremely knowledgeable about drinks and mixology and over all a pleasant conversationalist. I recommend getting drinks here!
The entrance is via the alleyway and not the door at the front. There’s stairs leading up to the venue so I would call them beforehand if your’ll need assistance.

Always a fun time. The DJs are always great, the bartenders are quick and make good drinks. It definitely gets packed and it's hard to dance but you have a good time. The crowd is usually fun too. Overall really enjoy the whole vibe.

How I love this neighborhood club! People are friendly and fun. I stopped by early on a Saturday night and was dazzled by Xmas decorations they just put up for the season and a great new band playing out for one of it's first gigs. As the band played to an enthusiastic audience, everyone in the room felt like we were sharing something special. Drinks are delicious and affordable, they don't charge for water- even bubbly water! Drop in!
