Amazing and calm dining experience with enjoyable food and cocktails. I am thankful for this space as there is not many like it.
Food is fresh and delicious. I wouldn’t go here super hungry but it’s a great place for a romantic or lunch dates.
The salad was sooooo good! Highly recommend with meat and not! I didn’t know the vegan popcorn chicken was mushroom 😭 personally not a mushroom fan. They felt a lil greasy but still yummy paired with the shoestring fries. Vegan dog was great as well and would order again. My fiancé enjoyed the wings and the chicken in the salad.
We both agree that the drinks could be a lil heavier (lol bad or good, not sure) but they are still well crafted cocktails and will be coming back again for the drinks and food!
The bar and atmosphere itself is CUTE! Enjoy the colors and music going on. Not loud and was able to enjoy conversation with my girl. They have games as well to help newer friends or couples break the ice. Great place for friends, lovers, and going alone.
For larger groups of like 5+ I think it would be respectful to call ahead of time as the space is smallish and there isn’t many large group tables
This is the echo park area and you just gotta take that with a grain of salt. IYKYK
Not very welcoming, and the wine options were pretty bad
Best in LA for queer women ♥️
Really good happy hour from 3-6. The shrimps and coonie salad are my favorite. Don't forget to order dessert when you go.
Great little spot for drinks and bar food. The cocktails are delicious and the staff are super friendly. Definitely stop by on a hot afternoon for happy hour!
Beyond a great first time experience. The Ruby Fruit has a wonderful spot. You can feel the good vibes in the room. Everything was way more than I could ever expect from a strip mall location….It makes it so much more convenient & accessible! The music playing fit perfectly with the decor & lighting. We were lucky enough to be in town about a week before the fire & made sure to stop to support our friends
Cheers! Giving strength to rebuild your great city & thank you for providing a space!
Delicious food and bevvies. Welcoming atmosphere and inclusive community events. My fave was the weekly trans night that supported vendors. Imagine they didn’t even make much money off those events since most people stood in the parking lot. Devastating to temporarily lose this gathering space.
I am not surprised that Rubyfruits closed. It wasn't inclusive, friendly, or welcoming at all. The staff were rude and fake. The food was bad and overpriced. Thank God I lived in New York and experienced what real inclusivity looks like at a lesbian bar. They should have done a CUBBYHOLE-like bar that has been around for 40 years and welcomes the softball lesbian to the late-night chic drop-ins. Friendly bartenders who actually have conversations with you, cheap booze, and a jukebox with phenomenal music. No one gave a poops about your LA cool crowd (which it absolutely was NOT) So sorry, you missed a great opportunity. We New Yorkers need to show you how it's done.
Listening to you all on NPR right now. I really hope y'all get the funding you need to continue doing beautiful and big things. As a small business owner, I overstand what you mean! 💕 Peace, abundance and $$$.
They shut down all of a sudden due to the “wildfires” and are now doing a $100,000 fundraiser. Weeks prior, they were telling staff and customers how they’re expanding into next door. How were they gonna expand if they didn’t have the money? They blamed the wildfires even though they themselves posted how none of their employees were affected by the wildfires, plus the business is very far away from them. The closing and fundraiser feel like a scheme to steal money from the lesbian community to fund their expansion so they don’t have to fund it themselves. Really tasteless to blame the wildfires/a natural disaster that actually did affect many people in LA. Don’t support this business of scammers and liars. We all want a viable lesbian space, but this is not it.

Just arrived and found they are closed - check their instagram.
Business has been tough…
I wish I could have visited once.
Thank you the ruby fruit
LOOOOVE this place. The only downside is that it's not always the best nighttime bar environment. It closes a little early, and the space is pretty small.
That said, I've made long lasting friendships on fun nights. Friday and Saturday night (or whenever there's an event) are the times to go if you want to mingle.
The food is AMAZING. I got an impossible smash burger (completely vegan) and a margarita. One of the best margs and best burgers I've ever had.
Great food and drinks. Great people. Overall, it's a wonderful place to be surrounded by queer women, and I love that it's open for brunch too!
immaculate vibes
Really love their playlists and they have the best grilled chicken sandwich I've ever had
NOT gay friendly. Only caters to lesbians, which is fine, but do not claim to be gay friendly with a pride flag and not welcome gay men into the bar. actively ignored patrons who did not identify as they / them
