Came here today June 15,2025. The person wearing white apron is very nice to explain the menu and good service. Of all the 3 restaurant (HIDE, Big boi, Tofu ya) I went to. Tofu ya have the most decent amount of food for their price. Variety of side dishes. I’m glad I found this place. Will definitely come back.

Extremely rude called about missing sides and she became instantly defensive saying it is the right amount for one person. Have ordered in the past and received much more. At the end she hung up on me when I was commenting on her tone.

Unfortunately my friends and I had to leave early. Such a bad experience.

First, they wanted to charge money for side dishes depending on your entree that are generally free at every Korean restaurant no matter what you ordered as an entree! Not even kimchi was free for what we ordered!! Very weird but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt before I assumed.

About a quarter of all the leaves in my salad were moldy and the dressing was bad too. The spicy 비빔냉면 dish was done all wrong. They seemed to confuse it with 물냉면 because it was really watered down and the bowl was filled to the brim with this sauce water. It was clearly plated with no care whatsoever. Texture was done very bad.

Highly advise management to go over this dish again.

Wishing anyone else who visits a better experience!

The Baseline: For Korean bibimbop/soup restaurants the soup base must be quality, the quality of the meat/rice of the bibimbop, and the accompanying sides.

Food: I like the soup at Togo Ya, I had the Kimchi beef soup and it had a good amount of beef/tofu. The ingredients are quality and the accompanying fish cake, kimchi, cucumber kimchi, etc. were great with the main.

Service: Good solid service and my water glass was kept filled.

Atmosphere: No muss, no fuss type of restaurant experience. Plenty of seating and there is an outside patio.

I came here when I wasn’t that hungry so this probably affected my experience but I had the naengmyeon and it was alright. Definitely would come again to eat the signature (and my favorite Korean) dish, sundubu.

Having eaten Korean food for the past 20+ years, I am still looking for authentic, home style food cooked by a chef that believes in the divine taste of simple ingredients. Tofu Ya is a great place to dine in. We walked in on a Saturday evening and were greeted by the lady in charge immediately. They have such expansive menu and many options to choose a " combo ", the seafood tofu soup and bimbimbap combo is such an amazing treat, super well-balanced flavor and the rice is perfectly served, the service was so fast! I would definitely come back !

While traveling, I wanted to eat Korean food and found this place on Google Maps. I had sundubu and bulgogi. It also came with a variety of small side dishes and was delicious.

Horrible service, been here before but the guy who helped us was horrible. My friend asked for recommendations as it was her first time and he avoided answering the question. The. She asked what popular and he gave a very vague answer.
Food was good but keep in mind no alcohol here, so crowds are less. Parking in sawtelle is always a pain, nothing new there.
But when asked for additional (free) sides he was hesitant to give them. Then when getting boxes to go he gave us a few and then when we asked for more. He said he cannot give more and we cannot take our sides home. Keep in mind our sides were only 2 extra which in Korean resturants are unlimited!!!
Wont be coming back here for dine in at least horrible horrible experience. My friend threw all her food out due to this mans bad vibes.

It was delicious and accommodating. I had the beef bulgogi with rice and a ton of Broccoli per request and it was delicious. It scratch that kbbq feel I was having 100%

Dietary restrictions: Like I said above I requested broccoli only for the veggies and they accommodated me no extra charge.

The stew was quite plain, not spicy at all. The toppings weren’t various at all. The rice bowl was quite cool which wasn’t expected.

I have never had a bad experience. The food is excellent and so is the service. I love the side dishes, every last one. It's in a great area for dessert after.

Option for a Quick meal. Not the best Korean dishes I’ve had but it’s decent.

This restaurant serves all sorts of Tofu soup. And you can customize the spicy level. 1x is pretty spicy already.

I like their cold noodle. It’s pretty authentic and brings a refreshing touch. Perfect for summertime.

Side dishes are tasty and big portion.

They also have specials combo you can mix and match bbq meat+main course.

Vegetarian options: Cold noodle. Tofu soup. Kimchi pancake.
