I stopped by a bit late in the afternoon for a late lunch and ordered from the brunch/lunch menu. Unfortunately, the confit duck dish I originally wanted was already sold out, so I went with the Scotch egg and a lentil soup instead.
The service was excellent — very attentive and friendly, and the table service was quick despite the time of day.
Food-wise, the lentil soup was really good, especially with the soft-boiled egg in the middle, which was a nice touch. The Scotch egg was decent, though the sausage/meat coating on the outside was a little on the salty side for my taste.
Because I arrived fairly late, the dining atmosphere wasn’t at its best. When I first arrived, with the coffee counter at the entrance, it seemed like they assumed I was just there for takeaway coffee. After I walked further inside, someone asked if I was dining in and seated me. By the time I was finishing my meal, the staff had already started wrapping up. That said, everything else was solid overall, and I still enjoyed the meal.

Lamb was not hot and very tough, and seasonal greens were incredibly salty. The fried trout and chips was very good though so 2 stars for that. Lamb and greens were also very expensive for the portion tha they gave.

I love this spot. I used to stop by after physical therapy. The food is delicious and I love the rooftop.

Had a dinner at Tomat - love this neighborhood gem! Found out that Tomat has a bakery and have pastries at 8am in the morning.

This is the place to eat if food is your love language! Our favourite restaurant in LA, the food is outrageously good, every detail curated by Harry who is hugely creative and passionate about the menu. Top top place

They cut no corners. Every ingredient and dish is thought through, well engineered, and with the best local and international ingredients.
Must order the Barbari bread with tomato butter. And everything after that. Drinks are a joy as well. Go hungry, and with an appetite for something fine but approachable.

Every dish we ordered came out hot and perfectly seasoned.
Great evening - food is superb; we went all out and had half the menu. The bread to start sets the scene, alongside the lovely Japanese inspired courgette salad, then had dry aged beef (if it’s your thing this is the deal); tender lamb and beautiful twist on aubergine. The beets as the side were brilliant (the friend onions gave texture). Thoughtful and easy cooking throughout with a clear inspiration from the chef. Service was charming (as expected in the US). Will be back!

I came here for breakfast with a high school friend, at the enthusiastic recommendation of her boyfriend, who considers Tomat his absolutely favorite restaurant. It sits in a sprawling parking lot surrounded by culinary competition: Thai, Mexican, Japanese, and, for the bold, an IHOP.
I arrived just after 8 a.m., only to learn breakfast doesn’t start until 9. So, pastries it was: a pistachio croissant, plum danish, and pain aux raisins, with an iced tea for good measure. Each pastry was excellent, but they looked child-size and not as big as other pastry places. At $8 apiece, it's the opposite of bang for your buck.
The cashier also double-charged me for an extra pastry, and though they promised a refund, it hasn’t shown up in my credit card statement. No receipt either, so I may need to drive over there to dispute the charge.
On the plus side, the rooftop seating was peaceful, the Wi-Fi free, and the staff refreshingly unconcerned about how long I camped out with my laptop.
If the portions were larger, or the prices lower, and the refund drama resolved, this would easily be a 4.5- or even 5-star spot. For now, I’ll call it a delightful, slightly overpriced 4.

What a gem of a place! Wonderful staff & artfully curated space (don’t miss the rooftop.) Beautiful handcrafted cocktails and artisan wine list. LOVED the fresh local seafood, Barbari bread, house made saffron ice cream…and those madeleines!!! Inspiring to see people going above and beyond to source the best ingredients and make everything from scratch. Westchester is lucky to have this landmark establishment.

I ordered the cod. It was delicious but the serving size was so small— basically a 6-inch by 2-inch filet. Very disappointing; I left hungry. Yet with a salad and bread the meal was over $80. I will not go back! Service was slow.

*UPDATED REVIEW*
Came here on a rooftop jazz event on a Sunday night a couple weekends ago - staff was very courteous and accommodating (thank you for serving us Natalie! She was so courteous and professional.) Great vibes at their rooftop seating esp. around sunset - delicious steak and chimichurri bites and tasteful cocktails (definitely a shout out to y’all’s bartender’s expertise)!
Great tasting coffee esp. their Koji Miso Caramel Latte!
Unassuming from the outside - modern, elevated decor inside.
Definitely a spot we’ll frequent now and then. I believe I have talked to the store manager (Asian gal?) before briefly in one of our visits - she’s very inviting and informative. Thank you for having us!
