Food was good. Waiter was good but he kept telling people they had to leave even though there was plenty of seating.

Traxx was conveniently located in Union Station. Our group included one that arrived by train from Oceanside, two that arrived by Metrolink from Buena Park, three that drove from West Los Angeles, and two that drove from Calabasas. The food was good and the server tried very hard but the service seemed to be understaffed.

You would not expect a good restaurant to be located in a train station but in the case of TRAXX it is true!! Good food and service in a very comfortable sit down at a proper table experience.

I would categorize this establishment as a more diner than restaurant. Convenient when in the station but certainly not a destination. Website photos overstate the ambience significantly.

Busy Union Station Train Festival Day so service was a little unsupported Servers were kind and professional but each had many tables. Hostess was using a paper pad for reservations, not sure if a system was down or a lack of devices. Food was good, medium portions. Drink refills were delayed on a hot day.

Had a very nice experience eating lunch at Traxx during the LA Train Festival. Food was all tasty, we were seated promptly, and the food came out relatively quickly as well. Seating seemed a little disorganized and they had us noted as a party of 2 rather than our reservation of 3. Our server wasn't sure if the drinks we ordered would be available because they had a staggered opening, but they arrived quickly with no problem at 11:45. We ordered a chicken cutlet, some fries, and a Cobb Salad. Server missed one of our items, (again, busy morning) but the kitchen quickly made it up once the error was realized. I would definitely go there again for lunch, and its a great option for someone who arrives at the station hungry or wants to come early before catching a train.

On 9-9-25 I ordered a Traxx burger my order was complete and a waitress walked right pass me and out the door with my order when I saw this i told Mr.R who took my order that I didn't want it because it was walked outside of the restaurant doors in a to go box and wasn't covered or closed. Mr. R at first refused to have order remade and wanted to give me a refund which I refused to accept and told him I wanted my order made again to which his reply was ( that's ridiculous because we always walk food out the uncovered to the bar restaurant in which i told that would be acceptable as well, he started talking to his co-workers in Spanish I told him that was rude and unprofessional and he continued to talk in Spanish I asked for a manager and was told there was no manager on duty. My order was remade and it was made wrong. I eat here at least twice a month and never had this experience. Today 9-10-25 I called asking for a manager and was told no manager was on duty and no-body knows when the manager will be

Traxx embodies the urban ambience in a way that is only possible through proximity to public transit. While the food and service were certainly excellent (exceptional is a high bar), the atmosphere inseparable from location is what makes the difference between being able to recommend a visit while in the neighborhood versus recommending going out of one’s way to pay a visit to Traxx. The latter of these is solidly true.

The food was amazing as was the service. It was wonderful to sit in the lobby of this classic station and feel the history of Union Station.
We ordered the Ahi Bowl and the Chicken Cutlet and both were great.

Went to this restaurant before taking my train up north…🚂The staff were cool.🙋‍♀️ I ended up getting Calamari🦑, Birria Tacos🐐, & the Steak Sandwich (To-Go)🐄. Food was good😋, it seems they serve more like appetizers instead of full dishes🙃. That’s my only complaint, portion size really🤏. Other than that everything was cool 👍 & I’d definitely recommend if you’re sitting at Union waiting for a train or bus…🙇‍♂️🚌🚂

Nice little restaurant!

You don’t expect great food at a train station, but the Traxx restaurant is a pleasant surprise. We had the ahi tuna bowl and the chicken sandwich.

Traxx: Great Salad, Great People-Watching, in the Heart of Union Station

Traxx is one of those rare finds that makes you feel like you’re in on a secret. Nestled right inside LA’s Union Station, it’s the kind of place where the chaos of travel melts away the second you sit down and glance at the menu.

Let’s get right to it: the Cobb salad is fantastic. Fresh, crisp, generous, and perfectly composed—like the kitchen actually cares (because they do). It’s the kind of Cobb that ruins you for all the others. Add a cold drink and you’ve got yourself a little oasis in the middle of the station.

The service is always friendly and efficient, whether you’re killing time before a train or just wandered in from the street. No pretension here—just solid hospitality and people who seem to genuinely enjoy what they do.

But the real kicker? The atmosphere. You’re sitting in one of LA’s most iconic spaces, surrounded by travelers, locals, and characters of every kind. It’s prime-time people-watching. One table over, someone’s in a deep meaningful discussion about a screenplay. Across the room, a backpacker’s staring at the departure board like it holds the meaning of life. You can’t make this stuff up—it just happens around you while you eat.

Traxx is a little slice of calm in the middle of motion. Whether you’re catching a train or just catching your breath, it’s absolutely worth a stop.

Love this spot, it’s a fantastic bar at Union Station. I’ve Been coming for a couple years now. If you are on your way to a Dodger game and taking the Free Shuttle or just passing through. They have some of the friendliest, and talented bartenders, Lexi, Peter and Anthony are my favorites. It’s Always a great experience and never disappoints! Also a must try is the Breakfast sandwich, killer!
