It was a comfortable place, the portions were great and everything was delicious. We highly recommend the ravioli.

I was so happy to try this place as I became vegetarian recently and I am from a place with little vegan restaurants. This place made me feel so comforted and showed that vegan food can be amazing. I had the pho ga, and it was much better than the “real” chicken phos I’ve had. My mom had the garlic basil noodles and she loved it and we both were shocked at how meaty her sausage tasted. We also shared a Vietnamese coffee with coconut cream and I really liked it as someone who really likes coffee sweet. Definitely would recommend to vegans and non vegans alike. My mom is not vegan and thought it was great.

This vegan restaurant is walking distance to the Ahmanson and a great place to go before a show. I've been here before.
I came here on a weekday and had a few hours to burn. The staff was kind and allowed me to use a booth and access to their wifi so I could do some work. I ordered a Bahn Mi and was blown away by the authenticity. It's the best one I've had since Vietnam. The roll was a perfect crunchy French loaf, crispy tofu, perfect spicy pepper and a fairly large for $12.
Great atmosphere. I'll be back!

This is weird. I wanted to order a Bahn Mi sandwich for dinner so I suggested Vietnamese food to my girlfriend. We have some pretty good options in DTLA for Vietnamese so I thought I was solid. Of course, my girlfriend being who she is chooses Âu Lac. Being who I am I asked if they have a Bahn Mi sandwich on the menu knowing she’ll switch restaurants for me. Nope, they have a Bahn Mi sandwich. Great.
Don’t get me wrong, I like this place, but I really wanted a genuine Bahn Mi. We ordered the curry rice, garlic noodles, kale salad (her favorite), and a very vegan Bahn Mi sandwich. Fantastic.
Straight to it. The curry rice and garlic noodles are absolutely amazing, no doubt, but I really wanted a bonafide beef Bahn Mi!
Guess what, this place just happens to have the best, bonafide Bahn Mi sandwich in DTLA. Amazing.

Love this place! It is always consistent, the food is well prepared and always comes out fast, and I appreciate that it’s vegan although I am not vegan. The food here tastes great and I think any person would find a plate here they will enjoy. I think they increased their portion sizes too!

It was the rainy afternoon that made me step inside, and I’m glad I did. The lentil stew was rich and comforting, like something made in a home kitchen with care. They served it with a slice of warm sourdough that soaked up every last bit. Soft indie music played in the background while people chatted quietly over tea. A perfect little escape from the grey weather outside.
The big thunnini roll was great. The portion was quite big and it tasted fresh. The Banh Mi was good, especially the salad that came as a side. Great to have plant based restaurants that try new things :)

Âu Lac is AMAZING!!! I went, for the first time with my cousin and brother. We went in celebration of my birthday. They are Not vegetarians. It was an adventure that was greatly rewarding. It is a lovely interior, with a very accommodating staff. The food is Fabulous and reasonably priced. I recommend Âu Lac to everyone.

Amazing and delicious food and drinks in a lovely atmosphere. The claypot fish with black rice was savory and flavorful, and the portion was large. The Ruby Juice was incredible - healthy and tasty. I highly recommend!
