I had an incredible dinner for 9 for my birthday last year and now it looks like they are closed. Does anyone know if they will be reopening??
The chef and maitre’d put together an incredible multi course meal at a very reasonable price and the flavors were fantastic. Not all of my crew were vegan and they were so amazed by the food. Please tell me they’re reopening. Or has Chef opened a different spot?!

I managed to eat here once, it was truly amazing food, but we tried to go back 3 times since then and got turned away each time because they always closed more than an earlier than advertised. So ended up having to take our business elsewhere :(

Arrived an hour till close as a walk-in party of 2 and we were greeted with a glass of rose or champagne as we waited. Service was top notch from all the staff, and food was great! We will definitely be back

Overpriced. The lions mane pie didn't have that amazing meaty lions mane texture. The suya special was too salty. The server is were nice. Our server didn't write down the order. Did we order maafe? Yes. Did we get red red instead? Yes. I mean, come on. Just write it down.

This was my second visit to Ubuntu, and unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with my experience. Over Hype and Under delivery. 1. Despite having a confirmed online reservation, I had to wait over 30 minutes for a table, even though there were open seats both inside and outside. The main receptionist was constantly on the phone, which contributed to the poor customer service. 2. Three specific items from the main menu were unavailable, reason given was supply chain issues (Isn’t Covid times over) . The restaurant should promptly update the menu and inform customers of what is available to avoid disappointment. 3. The food server seemed totally bored and rude when asked about drink and food choices. Whether he was overwhelmed or disinterested, he should strive to be polite and friendly. 4. No one checked if we needed water, additional drinks, or anything else throughout our meal, further highlighting the lack of good service. No music was playing, maybe apple music was down this Sunday. I won’t be returning to Ubuntu anytime soon and will only consider coming back if significant improvements are made. I hope this review helps them improve their operations and customer service.
Vegetarian options: Very small fancy Vegeterian Options. Over Hyped, the celebrity chef needs to come and see what is actually happening in the Hollywood location.

This place is exquisite! The garden and decor is gorgeous and I loved the tranquility of dining there. The host/waiter was very friendly and helpful. We ordered from the DineLA menu and the food was so tasty and perfectly spiced. I also loved the presentation. The rice balls were my personal favorite but everything was delicious. It's such a unique place and I highly recommend it.

First time dining at Ubuntu tonight, and it was a pleasure from start to finish. We were greeted warmly upon arrival in a beautiful, welcoming space. The atmosphere was great, with music at just the right volume.
Two of us dined on the jollof arancini, okra salad, and maafe peanut stew, sharing the dawadawa semifreddo for dessert. The food was perfectly balanced in seasoning and flavors—warm, complex, and comforting. The ingredients were fresh and vegetable-forward, and the portions left us satisfied but not weighed down.
We look forward to returning for more! Shout out to the fabulous staff for their wonderful service!

Lived up to the hype!!! It was so fantastic. The flavor profiles and presentation were all amazing. We got the okra salad, jollof arancini, fonio grits, and peanut maffe. The okra wasn’t slimed at all and perfectly charred. The maffe was so so delicious and cozy tasting. Ibrahim was our server and he was impeccable as well. We had a great time.

I did not even dine here but my fiancè had a situation unrelated to Ubuntu, and got very sick. We pulled over and Ubuntu was the closest place, so I hopped out to get him water. Not only did they fill my water bottle twice, they also offered me kind words, electrolytes, and a cup of salt to help him feel better and stay hydrated. I can’t wait to come try the food, because the service is already top tier!

The food is Michelin star good. The okra salad and red red stew were my favorites. The jollof rice balls and lions make dish were tasty too. Everything was so flavorful and had layers of different tastes in each bite. Will be coming back here!
