I came here for a girls night dinner and it blew all of our expectations from the very beginning! The food and ambiance were 10/10. Not only did our server Matt do an exceptional job at explaining the menu and recommending dishes, but his friendly and social aura is what made the night so enjoyable. He's very knowledgeable and wants you to have the best experience. Definitely will be back. Thank you Uchi and Matt!

I came here to celebrate a girls night and I am truly so impressed with the food, the service, and the knowledge of the staff. Our waiter, Matt, was so kind, patient, and helpful. He recommended some of the best things on the menu with regard to our food restrictions. We will absolutely be back to dine here!

One of the best sushi experiences I have had. Our waiter. Nick was amazing and very helpful to help us decide what to order. Atmosphere was fun. It was very cool to try new dishes. They were running a little behind on reservations, so we were seated a little late, however, they were very nice and brought us a few dishes to try on the house. Would definitely recommend for sushi lovers.

Had dinner at Uchi for the first time tonight and everything was perfect. We had several dishes and they were all really creative. The hama chili is a great appetizer. The service was excellent and Ray and Keith are both awesome!

Loved our experience. Qwan was our server and he was amazing. He curated a flawless meal, checked in regularly, and made our evening so special. I highly recommend this place. Food, service, vibe - impeccable. For what it's worth, Qwan should get a parking spot.

EVerything here was delicious, so you can't go wrong. Our favorite was the hamachi. The sushi from Japan was whatever, so you can skip that. I prefer the sushi from here, I know, hard to believe! The hot stone was fun to cook on, I recommend getting that too. The walu walu was just a piece of fish, I could skip that next time. The edamame was delicious. It was smoky, which differentiates it from other places. Fried milk was a good dessert as well. Ambiance is like stepping into a modern/minimal space with round features. Service was fine. Valet took a very long time to get our car back. I would visit again.

Oh how I want to write the most amazing review. My husband recently visited Ochi in Austin and had nothing but the most amazing things to say about it. Upon walking in, I was really impressed by the beautiful woodwork throughout the restaurant. We sat down and were greeted by a somewhat friendly but stern waitress. When I asked for recommendations she basically gave us a lesson in what the menu titles meant. We ordered with high hopes but unfortunately we're not met with such excellence. . Nothing felt incredibly fresh or blew us away. I suppose the price is the only thing that blew us away. We have sushi once a week and are used to paying top dollar in LA, but paying for one piece what we typically pay for two left us with high expectations. Unfortunately, those expectations were never. As far as service goes...whatwas really unusual was one of the wait staff came over to our table as my fork fully engaged on the plate and asked can we take that plate from you my husband Ben and I both looked at each other confused and wondered why he was asking us this he said and he walked away confused my fork still on the plate . As the meal went on we found more of the same just plain sushi not that fresh not that original but very overpriced . It was very clear they wanted us to be done with the meal as they kept coming back to our table asking if we were done finally we gave them our last plate with food on it and said yes go ahead and take it. We return to LA location I would love to experience with my husband experience in Austin but I don't see that happening in LA . I guess now we will return to the sushi restaurants of Ventura Boulevard.

When you walk in you're taken by a truly nice space and interior design, unfortunately it stops there. I stopped taking pictures on the 3rd consecutive tasteless watered down dish, $300 for 2 of us is not unheard of these days but not when all of that $300 goes spent on presentation which they try very hard to display. The flavors of our 11 different dishes very sub par. You'll notice they bring tiny bites of a fish dressed with plenty of artistic colorful leafs and fish sauce accents which obliterated the flavors of the fish. Fish sauces are meant to be on Thai style dishes not on delicate raw fish. Waiter was very nice!

Amazing amazing amazing. Uchi is outstanding. The food, the service, the atmosphere. Yumiko is so sweet and knowledgeable. It was our first time here and her hospitality made the evening extra special. Highly recommend. Sushi is from Japan and high quality. Thank you Uchi and thank you to Yumiko!

Uchi has a lot of buzz and is a beautifully designed restaurant with a modern airy feel. Wait staff are all young. Clientele also mostly also young ", upwardly mobile. Food is quite good, portions on the small side. We had omakase for our party of 3 and all food was presented for sharing on the same plate or bowl. For the expense of our meal, one would've expected individual plating. Courses came out in batches, sometimes 3 at a time. Fish was fresh and delicious but not generous. Bottom line, new place to see and be seen, but very pricey and if you want great sushi, go more traditional, there's much better omakase for value.

Street parking and valet available. Staff is very helpful. Beautiful restaurant that is great for a date with good lighting. Food is good. I'm surprised to see so many sauces paired up with many dishes when the food is quality and good enough without it. The sauces are also outside the box and are not all Japanese. Drinks are also great. The pricing is not to my liking at all (did not order much food for a small party but the price was as if we did for a large party). For the amount we paid, we didn't get enough food which is probably why I won't go back and is causing a 3 star review.

Beyond incredible food, service, and the vibe was perfect. The short rib hand roll was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! I wish I knew our bartenders name. He was so knowledgeable about the menu & made great recommendations. Can’t wait to come back!

It was way better that Nobu ! And we have been to many Nobu restaurants in the US, Australia. The innovative dishes are absolutely amazing. I don't do reviews often but this one exceeded my expectations. I also love the layout of the resturant. .

Love love love their sushi and the quality of their fish always tastes so fresh! We got the opportunity to sit at the sushi bar with our own sushi chef and watched them prepare all the different types of rolls. Surprisingly we loved the short rib nigiri (gyutoro)! We also really loved their bluefin toro and salmon belly! We got the Jasmine Cream, fried milk, and the cheesecake for desserts and they all felt very light and airy. The cheesecake wasn't too dense and had an earl grey layer inside. The fried milk had a nice crunch with a milky interior. And the Jasmine cream had a nice honey graham crunch at the bottom that was just enough to satisfy my tastebuds! The waiters/waitresses are always very attentive and will refill your drinks and clean out the plates right away. Definitely Michelin style service in my opinion! The inside is very spacious and open concept. Gets pretty packed towards 6:30pm but doesn't get too noisy where you can't have a good conversation with another person. Shoutout to Danielle, Jesus, and Kelly for providing us with great service and the perfect recommendations! Looking forward to dining at Uchi again!
