Highly recommend. The chef exceeded expectations with every course and his attention to detail. The quality of fish was exceptional. The service was very warm and attentive.

honestly pretty underwhelming omakase. Didn’t start off great as I had to ask for a drink menu after it was clear I wasn’t getting one after 15 minutes, while everyone else did. the AC was also absolutely freezing and no restrictions on perfume meant it was difficult to enjoy the delicate flavors of the sushi when the customers next to me both wore heavy fragrances. the sushi quality ultimately did not feel worth the cost. there was no standout fish either. the option to “upgrade” your menu with truffles and caviar felt gimmicky so I skipped it. don’t think I’ll be returning.

Absolutely fantastic. No notes. Had the omakase with the sake pairing, was a experience I will not forget. Service was superb, super nice and highly attentive. And the food, out of this world. The intimate space was beautiful and made the experience feel very special. Would highly recommend!

Sometimes you come across places that are even better than Michelin-star restaurants!! This place was absolutely delicious, and the service was incredibly kind and welcoming. Not only did I have a great time, but the food was truly outstanding, and I don’t regret spending a single dollar here. I highly recommend it to everyone!

I'm usually pretty picky with raw fish and only eat it when it's fresh without any fishy taste, but this omakase really impressed me. The chef prepared and marinated the fish so well, and everything tasted incredibly delicious and refreshing. The service was also amazing, very attentive and they noted our preferences and the occasion we were celebrating. The chef's handwritten note was also super cute and such a thoughtful touch. Also, the drinks from the bar downstairs are really good. Loved the jasmine tea cocktail. Lovely experience overall!

Excellent omakase that would rival those at twice the price. The actual omakase experience started about 30 minutes after the reservation time, so... Patience. Valet parking is available, which is always great to have when you spend 2+ hours for dinner in the LA area. I wish they can bring back the ginger they had about a year ago. That was some darn good ginger

Udatsu Sushi was a great spot to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday.
When we went, it was just the two of us in the restaurant, which we actually loved. If you’re someone who prefers a quiet, intimate meal and doesn’t want to make small talk with strangers while eating, this place is perfect.
The food and service were both excellent. Everything was very well executed, and the smoked fatty tuna was a standout — rich, smoky, and incredibly flavorful.
Calm, refined, and a really enjoyable omakase experience.

This was a very nice omakase albeit expensive experience. 17+ courses of creative fresh sushi. A few things to be aware of: when you reserve you get automatically charged a 20% service charge. At checkout they hope you forgot that. Also they have a cocktail hour 30 mins before the reservation. They make it sound like it’s included in the price. It’s not. And it’s only pay as you go in their downstairs lounge. It lead to confusion. It’s quite hard to find. The only markings on the door was the lounge name Rokoshu which we didn’t know. Because it was windy they locked the door so it was a confusing entry. They have a nice selection of Japanese spirits. Apparently the Michelin chef Udatsu comes here a few times a year to chef. That might be the best time to visit.

It’s good to see more inspiring young chefs with a nice atmosphere and good service. However, the food is pretty standard and not much different from other casual sushi places. I was expecting something more innovative for the price.

100/100 for the hospitality. However, the sushi was not good. Rice fell apart and had unevenly distributed vinegar. Fish quality was below standard, I’ve had better fish in chicago which is a really low bar to compare to. The chef mass produced all the cuts before the meal started, so we sat in silence for 15 minutes.
Terrible, horrible seats. Children screams from downstairs. Odd pacing in the beginning. Was surprised the 5:30 reservation meant a 6:00 start (they did mention it in the fine print so this is my fault).

We went here for our wedding anniversary and we loved loved the whole experience! I’ve had many omakase before in LA, Toronto & Japan and this was top notch. I was obsessed with their pickled ginger as it appears to be house made. I would come back just for that! Just kidding but not really. We’ll definitely be back! I wish them continued success!

If you’re in LA and looking for a next-level omakase experience, Udatsu Sushi is a must. Tucked away in a sleek, intimate setting, this spot delivers craftsmanship, flavor, and service in perfect harmony.
The chef's attention to detail is unmatched—every piece felt like a personal story told through sushi. But the absolute showstopper? The Double Uni Nigiri. Creamy, briny, melt-in-your-mouth perfection. It’s the kind of bite that makes you close your eyes and just feel happiness.
From start to finish, every course was artful and fresh, with pacing and presentation that kept us excited for the next surprise. Service was warm, attentive, and deeply knowledgeable without being overbearing.
Yes, it’s a splurge—but worth every penny. This is sushi that reminds you why omakase is an experience, not just a meal. @sushitraveler
This was the worst sushi omakase I had in Los Angeles. The chef was very uncertified. In Japan chef’s take 10 years to become a master. The chef spent hours making the sushi. However; he was not a master for sure. There are so many other omakase’s such as Yamamoto or Ginza Onodera you are better off reserving. Please skip this place and try the other ones. This was a scam. 20% tip is expected but even the door was not opened for us. Trust me, spend your money elsewhere.
