Very tasty restaurant, has very good and fast service along with pretty tasty food. Came to the one in Brea, the grove and it is honestly a good spot to go for a nice dinner date without breaking the wallet.

Umami wasn't bad, it's an ok burger and the fries are good. I feel the burgers used to be way better and more delicious. I I do not like the fact that they don't have lettuce and tomatoes in their burgers. The service is good and I appreciated the nice server.

This was my first and last time going. I'll cut the service slack because only two people are working the entire restaurant. We paid $15 for two burgers that consisted of a thin, dry patty, 1 slice of cheese, a super thick bun and nothing else. We also ordered the buffalo wings, which were not even wings. The 'wings' were small dry pieces of vegan 'chicken' that had no flavor at all. I do not recommend you come here, you will pay $60 for 2 McDonald's quality burgers, frozen wings that aren't even real meat, and 2 sodas.

We came here on a Tuesday night. The place was barely half full, but they seem short staffed so the service was a little slow. We got the Truffle Combo and the burgers came out warm when I like them a little more hot. They tasted good tho and the truffle fries were bomb.

The service was not good... as I arrived I had to wait about 5 mins for the host than I wait another 5 min to be seated cuz they were cleaning tables for us. And the funny thing was only two tablets was full and the rest were empty.the waiter got our order quickly but as my food arrived I realized I wanted to add more fries to my order. 30 min later I had finished everything on the table and my fries was still not there.

We got the Truffle Combo. The $30 price is for single patty burgers. They seem short staffed so the service was a bit slow. The burgers came out warm, I like them a little more hot. The truffle fries were great though.

My brother suggested this burger spot and they didn't disappoint. Loved the truffle fries. All of the sauces were so tasty even the black garlic.

The guy who helped us out was so high out of his mind, that he didn't even know how to help us and was chewing/speaking while he was sitting us down at a wet table. We waited over 30 minutes for the food, waited for a sauce that never came, then we waited for our check that took another 40 minutes. As far as the food. Burger's were great. The fries were okay and the truffle ketchup that comes with it was not appetizing nor did it taste good. We asked for a printed receipt and our server is currently just standing at the bar doing nothing other than staring blank into space. I'm so beyond confused by the service. Absolutely no tip given. The poor other server had to help take care of us because the other two employees were so spaced out. Currently watching her help other people rather than giving us our receipt so we can leave... Felt completely ignored. Service is abhorrent.

Umami Burger looks nice and upscale from the outside but is a dump on the inside. Two servers, one hostess. We were seated right away, the place was not busy on a Sunday evening but it took our asking the hostess for a server after waiting more than 20 min after being seated. Order did not come out correctly, waiter had to be reminded of an order of fries. Milkshake and fries were ok, burger was thin and small - not worth the price.

I visited yesterday. The burgers are simply not the same, they all are smashed burgers now, but the flavor is just not there anymore. Our server and the staff was friendly and quick. But this place is not even the shadow of what it used to be.

Umami had a great reputation. We had heard that the menu was amazing and the atmosphere was lovely. Our experience was not that. They would not allow anyone to sit in the restaurant, and they didn't have restrooms even for their customers. The server was nice, but couldn't answer basic questions. They serve smash burgers which were thin, yet tasty. Lots of onions. The parm fries were very good, and the cheesy tattor tots. But it was hot and windy outside and the nearest restroom was really far away in The Grove. If you are not familiar with the area, you could be searching awhile. The tables weren't clean, and the play area was weird, it didn't seem safe or even very fun for the littles that were trying to play.

I love burgers so this was a wonderful experience. The diverse menu alone will enlighten your senses. If you like to try new things and have some change to spend this is where you wannabe. Thank you.

No stars as service and food were horrible! McDonald's offers a better menu and service. Burgers were over salted

Have been wanting to revisit another Umami location since my horrible experience at the downtown LA one. This used to be one of my favorite burger spots but unfortunately it's changed a lot since and not for the better. Today we got the Truffle Shuffle combo (3 burgers and thin fries with choice of two sauces) with an extra order of Truffle fries. We got multiple of the Truffle Ketchup for all the sauces. Still the best sauce here but looks like they don't normally give out extra anymore like they used to. The burger is drastically different than it was before. It's much thinner and tbh it looks more like a fast food burger to me. They used to have a thicker brioche bun with their signature "U" on top and now it's just a sad thin bun :( still a better burger than the downtown LA location though because at least this one wasn't cold and stale. The truffle fries are also different now. There used to be truffle cheese (it's just Parmesan now) so it's much less truffle-y than it used to be. My go-to order has been the truffle burger and fries for years, and it just isn't as filling or satisfying as it used to be. Taste wise and quantity wise. Just seems like corners are being cut to make the food cheaper to make (not as quality ingredients etc) while still charging the same price. I get it from a business point of view but you can definitely tell the difference in how it tastes and how it's presented. Service was better at this location though the downtown LA one sets a very low bar. Added two stars for good service. Also they don't validate and the parking here at The Grove is a nightmare so there's that. They do validate at Cheesecake Factory and Nordstrom fyi. I probably would give it one last chance but I think I need to find a new favorite burger spot.

Great atmosphere, interesting selection of food. The food was delicious but a bit salty. Jonathan I, was such a wonderful server. I love their outdoor seating with a children playground. My experience was very pleasant, I will be back.
