We got Kabob Torsh and the Chicken (roll?).
Both were super delicious. The chicken breast was the juiciest breast I’ve ever had. Loved the host and services. Very friendly and welcoming.
The portions were small for us, I recommend three portions for two.

Had reservations for Valentine's Day at 6:30 pm. We got to the restaurant about 5 mins early and saw a crowd of people at the entrance. Walked up and noticed what I assume was the manager and the hostess apologizing to people about the wait times. I spoke with another couple waiting in line and asked if they had a reservation and they did...6:30 as well. We had an 8pm show to catch at the Pantages so I didn't wait around in the chaos. From what I read from another Yelper on the same night, it took them 45 mins to be seated. We would have been late to the show if we waited around.

On the bright side, we walked a few doors down to a Korean restaurant called Chick and Burger. The ambiance was amazing and the food was delicious!

Tried the signature platter and overall had a very good experience. The portion size was good and suitable for about 4–6 people. The salad stood out with a simple but very tasty dressing that felt fresh and house-made rather than premixed.

All the kabobs were super tender and flavorful, clearly well prepared. The chicken koobideh was good, and the option to swap it was offered, which is a nice plus. Personally, chicken koobideh is not on my preferred kabob list, so I would choose differently next time.

Overall, a solid and reliable place for quality Persian kabobs.

We stopped on our way to LA to have dinner. Sam was the one who took care of us, and he was very friendly. We ordered a big platter, and at first, I was skeptical, especially about the ground chicken skewers. However, when the food arrived, everything was delicious. We loved the salad and tahdig with the three stews. The service could have been better, but since it was a busy night, I’ll give them a pass.

It was our first time here, and we came after the Iran protest in LA, so it was extremely busy. It did take a while, but it was totally worth it. With over 300,000 Iranian out today, it’s understandable. The staff were incredibly kind and patient, and the food was absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely be back.

Persian casual cuisine all fresh from the meats to the special sauces and soups. Gracious hosts and a mix of refined clientele in the know who appreciate the flavors, ambiance . A serene and pristine oasis in the midst of the Hollywood / I often take guests who find it delightful.

The food at Vala Kitchen is actually good, I’d give the food itself 4 stars. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and once we finally got our meals, we enjoyed them.

Unfortunately, the overall experience that night was disappointing. It was extremely crowded, which I understand can happen, but it clearly wasn’t managed well. The owner didn’t seem to know his own capacity and had already mentioned that almost everything was sold out, yet he encouraged us to stay and kept saying it wouldn’t be much longer.

We ended up waiting about 3 hours before we finally ate.

Won’t be coming back.

Dishonest manager and business practice.

Very long wait despite a reservation due a complete lack of organization and the fact that they were seating locals as a priority. Table opens up? “Hey you here you go take this table”. No verification of who that party is, no list. Wild.

Received only part of our order. The rest never came. Ask why? “Oh, we ran out”. How do you take an order for a plate and not have the ingredients? Poor management - disorganized, again. Manager kept saying nonsense completely unrelated to the issue. Never owned up to it. Table next to us just got up and left; good for them. Manager still continued on with his business model and tried to scam for the food that never came and automatically applied a 20% tip. Spoke with his partner who was actually a reasonable person and corrected the bill.

Their lone server was working his tail off. He deserves way better. We left and will never come back.
