Bought Hopya Baboy $5.99. Where is the filling. These are crap, all crust, the entire bun. Will never buy this again. Will not buy here again.

I was meeting up with sweet Sam B and wanted to bring her some treats. She likes Filipino baked goods, so I did a search for a bakery nearby and Valerio's Tropical Bakeshop came up on the list. I remember my darling Yelp friend Cindy S endorsed this place, so I hoped in the car and was on my way. Located in the lower level of the Eagle Rock Plaza, Valerio's Tropical Bakeshop is known for their traditional Filipino baked goods & desserts, which are made using the recipes from the founders' family that date back to the 1950s. This bakery is quite popular and has stores across the U.S. and abroad. The Eagle Rock location is a small grab & go shop. Valerio's is known for their Pandesal, and I could smell the freshly baked breads as I approached the store. It smelled wonderful! They carry several basic dessert staples such as: Ube Halaya, Biko, Suman, Nilupak, Kutsinta, Hapon Hopya, & Turon. I wasn't familiar with a lot of the items, but I know she loves Ube & Pandan, so I selected a few for her to try. Everything was reasonably priced. I purchased the Ube White Chocolate Fudge Brownies, Ube Crinkles, & Pandan Meringue for her and also got an Ube Coffee Cake for my neighbor. She was very happy when I brought them to her and enjoyed each one. I tried the Ube White Chocolate Fudge Brownie, and it was delicious! Moist, flavorful, & not too sweet. My neighbor & I shared the Ube Coffee Cake, and it was also particularly good. The cake was moist, and the crumb topping added just the right amount of sweetness. I look forward to going back and trying more items, especially the Ube Pandesal and Turon. *Plenty of free parking in the mall lot.

Great tasting hot pandesal. 3 bec of the clerk. He/she/they had to be asked 4x before she answered my question if they have hot pandesal. She pointed to the heating oven with attitude and said "here.. how many?" Before i even got the chance to ask my husband she had loaded a dozen which is too much for 2 people. I paid and said thank you and walked away towards the back door. Oh I was 2nd in line, the one in front of me, asked her if they have pandesal and he told me that they don't have regular only the whole wheat. Whatwas that all about? Smh

Love this small tropical bakery located inside Eagle Rock Plaza. They sell a variety of Filipino bread, sweets and pastries. Their cheese pandesal and ube pandesal are very good with coffee for breakfast. The ube cheese bread roll is a must try!

The food here is incredible. I do have a comment though. Having been to 3 different Valerio’s, the food is the best here. Why three stars, you wonder? When I stood in line there was a woman behind me that was incredibly rude to everyone else in line. She rolled her eyes at someone, cut in behind me when someone else was there, and somehow ordered items I wanted to order before me. It made those items unavailable for me which is unfortunate since this line is supposed to be first come first served. The woman continued to talk about how much everyone in line sucks in Tagalog to the employees, and somehow paid before me.Your decision to serve a rude person (giving her the priveledge to skip the line and pay before us, as well as depriving me of turon) who blatantly showed disrespect to other patrons respectfully waiting in is why I knocked you down two stars. Three people in line talked about the negative experience they had. It’s unacceptable.Btw, the ube ensaymada is 10/10. Yum!

Unexpectedly found this place and bought a chicken pandesal. Almost like a sweet chicken salad twist-- mine was still pleasantly warm when biting int Enjoyed every bite!

The chocolate and ube crinkle cookies are super good but I think whoever baked the chocolate lately went crazy with the chocolate because it was very bitter and it was dry and full of crumbs as opposed to before the chocolate was perfect and it was really chewey and soft it was disappointing the ube was great as usual next time I'll pass on the chocolate. 2 stars coz I have to give away the 2 boxes of chocolates which tasted so bad.

There is nothing like walking home with a fresh box of a dozen hot pan de sal to enjoy for breakfast. The smell of this fresh bread in the morning is a scent that brings so much joy to my home. Located in the eagle rock plaza tucked in the corner by the Macy's, this bake shop may blend in with the other Filipino eateries. However be sure not to miss this place for your basic sweet and savory pastry needs.

Baked goods are great but customer service is really bad they are really rude. Lady practically threw my bag at me and charged me extra for no apparent reason!

COVID-19: Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too. The staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor seating available with limited capacity. They are also sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my baked goods from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty massive since they share the lot with several other establishments. This establishment is located inside the Eagle Rock Plaza. Each parking space is pretty big. Food: I ordered 2 egg pan de sol. My family enjoys their dinner rolls. So I stopped by to buy some. They are always freshly made everyday. Staff: The staff here are very friendly and welcoming. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

This was my first time trying pan de ube. $4.25 for a pack of 6. I like the ube filling which has a dry paste texture (similar to Chinese red bean desserts). I don't like jelly-filled anything so the texture is a win. The color of the ube filling is also a beautiful bright purple. The bread is not too sweet, but it's VERY dense and will fill you up. Glad I tried it, but probably will not go out of my way to try again.

Super ME

I used to love Valerio's Baked goods. However, lately I have noticed a dramatic increase in their prices:( I know we are having an economic struggle due to pandemic but the quality of their breads has declined too. Even though we paid a hefty amount of money ,we expected a better quality. the pandesal looks bigger but the size doesn't matter if it ain't good. The sudden price increase doesn't make up for the quality of the bread they're selling but that's just my 2 cents. Recently we learned that it's easier to DIY your own if you'd like a better pandesal.
