Van Leeuwen Ice Cream in the Arts District is a sweet spot for indulgent and creative desserts. The experience begins with a welcoming offer to sample different ice cream flavors, which is perfect given their wide variety of unique options. Whether you're in the mood for a classic milkshake, a nostalgic root beer float, a build-your-own sundae, or a vegan ice cream sandwich, there's something for everyone.

I tried the Ice Cream Sandwich with a vegan cookie and honeycomb ice cream. The vegan cookie was soft yet sturdy enough to hold the creamy honeycomb ice cream. The ice cream itself was rich, with just the right amount of sweetness and crunch, making it a satisfying treat.

For the Make Your Own Sundae I opted for a combination of Earl Grey Tea and Marionberry Cheesecake ice creams, topped with rainbow sprinkles, cookies & cream crumble, and a generous dollop of whipped cream. The Earl Grey had a sophisticated, slightly floral flavor that paired beautifully with the tart and creamy Marionberry Cheesecake. The sprinkles and crumble added a fun textural contrast, while the whipped cream tied it all together with a light and airy finish.

The ambiance of the shop is decent, though seating is limited. It's more of a grab-and-go kind of spot, ideal for enjoying your dessert while taking a stroll through the vibrant Arts District. The location adds a lot to the experience, making it a perfect destination for a sweet treat after exploring the area.

Overall, Van Leeuwen in the Arts District offers a delightful ice cream experience with its variety, quality, and creativity.

I like finding new ice cream brands in hopes it will be my new favorite. I tried the Earl Grey Tea flavor from Van Leeuwen and I gotta say this is not it. It tastes like I’m licking lotion. I can’t believe this is one of their better selling flavors!

This is an ice cream shop on the second floor of One Santa Fe downtown. It was difficult to find the entrance.
The ice cream was really delicious. I recommend Honeycomb.

Really yummy flavors - got to try a bunch before making my decision. Got the chocolate brownie which was not as decadent as salt and straw but still good! Everyone who works there is nice and the store is really clean!

Dietary restrictions: Many vegan flavors, no sugar free flavors!

Sorry but this ice cream was not good at all. Got five different flavors, two of us actually threw the ice cream out.

The honeycomb option was smooth, creamy and the flavor delicious. But it was too sweet for my taste. The service was good - the server was patient as we asked to sample a total of four flavors. The cost came out to over $7 for a scoop which we think is a lot for what you’re getting.

Really good ice cream. Interesting flavors and vegan options. The vegan chocolate chip cookie is one the best I've had. The neighborhood has a lot of great places to check out.
