Visited Verve Coffee Roasters and had such a good experience. I got their latte and it was super smooth, well-balanced, and not too strong — exactly the kind of coffee you can enjoy slowly.

The café itself is bright, airy, and surprisingly spacious for the area. It’s a great place to chill, work, or take a quiet break in between errands. Friendly staff, relaxed vibes, and plenty of room to settle in.

Definitely one of my favorite coffee stops in LA!

Good lattes and nice seating. Americano was too sour.

Didn't actually stay. Scanned for power outlets but none to be found and was very cold like Starbucks. Sorry not going to spend double for this environment

Overpriced, unwelcoming staff, and mediocre coffee. The food is tasty and the interior is beautiful and welcoming, but that’s where the positives end.

The main downside here is customer service. the staff member taking our order did not seem friendly at all, was foreign to hello/hi, incapable of a smile, chose to point to things rather than talk to us, and didn’t heat the croissant we ordered with the excuse that they don’t have a machine. I find it hard to believe that. And if somehow they missed this key purchase they sure seem to afford one with the prices they charge.

Speaking about customer service, I had to remind them about the drink we ordered they somehow missed it

Coffee was good but rude staff. They didn’t tell me coffee was ready. You would figure it out by yourself 🙂

You could tell how certain customers get treated differently. I could just see how their demeanor and their eye jesters to certain people. Not everyone could tip at the moment-4555

Don’t get the pumpkin pie latte if u don’t like sweet. They said it wasn’t sweet but it’s sooooo sweet.

The chairs are not comfy here so don’t commit to working / staying long

Ordered Americano in the evening.
I think they gave me stale drip coffee. It was sour.

Verve is my current favorite beating out Blue bottle. The missile is great and so are their mini donuts.

They didn't have enough seats, and tables.

LA… why…
Great atmosphere, too bad for all the laptop squatters. There’s a few spots on the terrace (seating) which is lovely. You can order a flat white but they don’t offer ristretto shots/short pull, is this an LA thing? Not the first (or dare I say the last) “coffee roaster” house with employees that have no idea what I’m talking about/think they can attempt it with an classic espresso bunt —thank you but no thanks… so I moved on to a simple cafe au lait; then, I was enormously confused why it didn’t taste quite right, I suspect a dark roast wasn’t used, likely a medium, and while the milk was piping hot —nicely done, it was not poured correctly. If I wanted an average cup of coffee with milk, I would have just gotten some from the office break room and saved money in the process.

Verve Coffee on 3rd Street is one of those rare spots that manages to feel like both a destination and a neighborhood staple. The space is airy and modern but still somehow warm, with great natural light that makes it perfect for a solo recharge, catching up with a friend, or pretending to work on your laptop while people-watching. It walks that fine LA line between laid-back and design-forward—and nails it.

Coffee is the main event here, and they do it seriously well. Whether it’s a classic cappuccino (perfect foam, beautifully pulled shot), or one of their seasonal signature drinks—always interesting without being overly gimmicky—everything is crafted with care. Beans are roasted in-house and have that clean, nuanced Verve flavor profile that balances clarity with just enough richness. If you’re into pour-overs or single origin espressos, this is a go-to spot.

The staff is cool in the best sense—never cold, always knowledgeable, and happy to talk through beans or prep styles if you’re curious. Their pastries and light bites lean toward the higher-end coffee shop fare—think kouign-amanns, avocado toast that actually delivers, and a few rotating fresh options.

Parking, like anywhere on 3rd, can be annoying, but Verve’s vibe makes it worth the extra block walk. Bonus points for their shady outdoor patio—rare and ideal on a warm day. All in all, this is one of the stronger West LA cafes for people who care about coffee and atmosphere in equal measure.
