Top line: With so many options on york, please step up your game - this meal was not it. It takes a lot for me to write a 1 star review. I realize how difficult food industry must be and am pretty appreciative and understanding. My boyfriend found this place via google maps, specifically searching for sourdough pancakes. It said they were open until 9pm and since it was only 6:30 we decided to head over. We arrived to an empty restaurant with about 5+ employees. We found out once we were finally eating (when they started closing up) that they actually close at 8pm - we had arrived shortly after 7pm. While that is still reasonable time to arrive, we try our best not to go within the last hour of a business closing if we plan to dine in - as a personal and considerate rule to employees and what it takes to close. Let's just get to the review.... I ordered the chopped cheese with fries and a mexican coke. My boyfriend ordered the sourdough pancakes with over medium eggs, home fries, sausage and a strawberry frappe. With tip, we paid about $60.00. After waiting over 20 minutes (we were the only customers with several employees) my sandwich arrived cold. A hunk of unseasoned dry ground beef with memories of sprinkled shredded, melted cheese (see if you can spot any in the pic) - It looked like I had orded the chopped meat?? One slice of tomato, wilted and black trimmed lettuce and mayo all stuffed in a gummy Sara Lee french roll. Accompanying the sadness sandwich were 11 pieces of fries that were the only saving grace next to the mexican coke. My boyfriend's breakfast plate arrived also cold and in various shades of grey. Home fries were warmed in oil but not fried, sausage was glistening in oil but not fried, pancakes were flavorless, chewy(in a boxed pancake mix way when you get the ratio off) and the hero of the plate being the maple syrup that he drenched to give the meal any flavor. Photo of my boyfriend's meal is compared to the same order someone reviewed less than a month ago - what changed? Consistency was severely lacking. Strawberry frappe was a basic smoothie, nothing to complain or rave about. We were starving and ate until full, with immediate regret. Overall, food was disappointing and lackluster at best. Service was slow but kind. Would not go back nor recommend.

The food is delicious and their prices are more than reasonable. The presentation of the food shows the Chefs are highly trained. Before we left, one of the chefs brought out a pop tart for our 18 month old. This is one of my favorite places to grab a bite.

So we ordered pickup from here tonight. I love their order online process. It's super easy, they have pics of the menu items for everything, you can customize your items, it's great. It's not quite like toast, never seen it before but I like it. The takeout packaging is compostable, so that's always a plus. Their menu is pretty comprehensive. I ordered the breakfast taco. Wasn't clear the home fries went in the tacos but that's how I ate them and I liked it. We also ordered two kids burgers and fries. The kids portions are pretty big. Lastly we ordered the tuna melt, not so big portion. Overall the food was good.

We went to Wavy Gravy on a whim driving by one day. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of ingredients and the food was fantastic! We thought it would be like fast food, but it was excellent quality and very well presented. The people that work there are very kind, service is wonderful and the atmosphere is inviting. The restaurant and bathroom are emaculate. We had breakfast and lunch in two different visits and both times the food was excellent. We wil definitely be back and consider this a go to restaurant!

Service 10 nice energy, friendly and helpful Atmosphere 10 very retro-mod, feels like a diner out of a 60s beach party movie. Food 8 - fresh for sure. We dined in and had a regular and an impossible patty melt and shared an asada poutin. Both patties were juicy and not too drippy as a good melt should be, the only thing, and it's not keeping me from going back, was (for me) the gravy was a tad salty. Perhaps the seasoning from the asada added to what may have been a regular amount of salt. The asada was hot and juicy good flavor, I wish the asada was chopped up and sprinkled in hind sight to allow a better meat to fry ratio per bite. Also they have a special $5 burger after 5, that's a great deal and we will definitely be passing by here before a night out at the bars on York.

We stopped into Wavy Gravy when looking for lunch in Highland Park and the meal was incredible. They serve breakfast all day and have a ton of great vegetarian options. The sourdough pancakes were cooked to perfection. The counter person was so great and helpful with my whole family. Even the music was on point. I can't wait to go back and try more

Just happened to be in the area and found this spot. After walking in and ordering, we were then told the cook was running late so it would be a few minutes to get our food. During this time we saw several other people arrive to order or pickup food. They were also told the information about the cook running behind. No shade to the woman taking our orders because she was very nice and apologetic. She even offered us a strawberry frappuccino while we waited. After about a 30 minute wait, the cook comes in to get started. It took another 30-40 minutes to get our food. Because we didn't have any other plans than eating some poutine, we patiently waited. Once the food came, I noticed my shrimp with lobster sauce poutine had ground beef all over it. I was told this was impossible meat and something new they were testing. I'm a pescatarian and not only did the menu not mention this dish having any type of real or fake beef on it, I was not expecting to see it. They took it back to remake it but when I received it, there were still bits of "meat" in it. Because they mentioned it was impossible meat I took a few bites but honestly, the dish was just not that good. My partner did not enjoy her Carne Asada poutine either. Customer Service: 9 out of 10 (for the woman at the register) Food: 5 out of 10 (High note was the tuna melt we ordered while we waited on the poutine. I'll give that a 8.5 out of 10)

Visited: 2024-02 Tips: 1. Burger special ($4.99 hamburger or $5.99 cheeseburger) (add a side of fries for $3.50 more) 5pm-close daily 2. Breakfast served all day. 3. Free drink with meal purchase via Yelp check in Hamburger: had the burger special. Decent burger but the patty was ok to thin (for some) in size. Wavy poutine $10.95: another decent option. Decent size for the price. I would have liked the fries to be a bit more crispier & the gravy to be a little less salty. The cheese was nice and stretchy. Salmon bowl $15.95: probably the best option. Salmon was cooked to my liking. My partner and I thought the rice was nice & soft. I enjoyed the avocado & cucumber slices. Not big on cabbage but I think they pickled it and made it decent. Would get again. Overall: great friendly service, decent food. I like that they have lots of Canada related food items (I think Lays ketchup chips, Nanaimo bar). I would come back to support them & would probably try the breakfast poutine & ask to have crispier fries.

Wavy Gravy nails it with fast service, friendly vibes, and wallet-friendly eats. The $5.99 after 5 PM cheeseburger was a hit with my 7-year-old, and the giant coloring sheets and markers were a fun surprise. Perfect spot for a laid-back meal without breaking the bank.Kid-friendliness: Coloring sheets and a kids menu

Person at the counter provided incorrect information that two of the items were gluten free when they are not. Not her fault as the owners clearly have not trained their staff about ingredients and allergens. Please train your staff as certain allergens can be life threatening and if your employees are dolling out incorrect information it could lead to physical injuries.
