a really comfortable room both during the day at the bakery with the light pouring in and at night when its just dim lights and candles. no matter the hour, the service is thoughtful, the wine (or coffee) is delicious, and the food just absolutely delivers plate after plate after plate. this is a little gem that offers quite a lot considering how small the place is, and i sincerely hope the neighborhood continues to embrace them as they clearly have prioritized the people closest to them (even at the cost of some apparent internet angst, blech). thanks wildes!!!

Every single thing we had here was beautiful and so so tasty. Not one note. We went for dinner and the next day to their first morning of doing pastries and coffee. Even the coffee was stellar. The people in the kitchen know what’s up, and the front of house make you feel cozy and special the whole time. i <3 wilde’s

I only had the baked goods here, but enjoyed all 3 that I ate. The scone with butter and jam was DELISH. Also tried the quiche. It had a fantastic buttery flaky crust. I zapped it in the microwave before eating and recommend heating it up a bit. Also tried the spiced carrot tea cake and that was delicious as well. Looking forward to trying dinner here sometime too.

I went for the morning bakery. Had a really good scone.
We came here for one of their inaugural breakfasts! Scone was delicious, quiche was good but served cold.

(Wildes had only been open 9 nights when I went!) Despite the rain, this restaurant was already full with a waitlist and a line outside at 5:40pm. Lucky for me, the hostess told me that there was no wait for 1 and I sat at the window bar. I heard her telling latecomers that the line starts forming at 5pm - so definitely arrive early or be prepared for a wait. The rainy vibes really added to the cozy ambiance of this place and felt very appropriate for a British restaurant.
I ordered:
Stilton and persimmon - the cheese was so mild and nutty! I was expecting a sharp blue cheese flavor, but I think even a blue cheese hater would love this. Came with hearty bread. YUM.
Kohlrabi with crackling - sort of like a vinegar coleslaw, flavors were nicely balanced with the salty fatty fried pork skin and crispy sharp veg and red onion. Next time I will ask to course this out with the fish b/c it would have been a nice compliment.
Battered skate - this was the lightest, crunchiest fried fish I’ve ever had. I think the tartar sauce that the fish came with had an Indian mint chutney flavor, which was really nice. SO yummy and I’m glad I got the kohlrabi slaw because anything heavier would have been too much.
Coming with a date so you can share a bunch of stuff would be ideal. Everything I tried was surprising, unique (for LA), and delicious. I’m stoked for the “hot new restaurant” hype to chill out a little so we can make this one of our go-to neighborhood restaurants, but I’m also happy to see their immediate success.

Easily one of the most delicious meals I've ever had in LA! The food was warm in a homestyle kind of way, but on another level in terms of execution. I didn't know simple dishes like fish and chips or bangers and mash could be that special without losing the traditional feeling I love them for.
The menu fits on one page, which is great because it was all so well thought out, and we were able to try nearly everything (without breaking the bank, even the wine was reasonable!!) The fish and chicken were perfectly moist, the appetizers were refreshing and nothing felt too heavy while still being so flavorful! The sticky toffee pudding was the best I've ever tasted. There wasn't a single miss.
On top of everything, the service was great, you can really tell everyone working there is putting love into what they're doing. It's a true community restaurant and that's rare in LA!!
Looking forward to going back to try the rest :)

Wow! Wilde’s is one of a kind and exceptional. From the service, to the atmosphere, to the food—every part of our experience felt like being comfortably nestled in someone’s home for a private meal. The wine selection is unique and thoughtful as well. Nothing here is your standard affair.
MUST ORDERS:
-stilton & persimmon
-chicory salad
-battered fish
-bangers & mash
-sea-salt and vinegar chips
-all deserts!
Can’t wait to return and experience more of the menu and vibes.
(NOTE: be prepared to embrace the wait; have some snacks and wine. Unless you can snag a reservation!)

What a wonderful new restaurant! Absolutely worth braving rush-hour traffic from the Westside. Highlights included the Coppa di Testa, Bangers & Mash, and the Steelhead with fennel and pink peppercorn. They were out of the meat pie when I visited, but I can’t wait to come back and try it next time. Staff, food, and ambiance were all 10/10!

We couldn't be more excited to have a new neighborhood staple and this place lives up to the hype. Ambiance is cool and mellow, great for date night or for impressing friends & family. Staff matched the ambiance and were incredibly welcoming and attentive. As for the food? They knocked every dish out of the park. We started with their crumbed rillette, chicory salad and steelhead crudo. Each dish had such a great mix of flavors and would gladly order all three again. For the mains, we ordered battered sea bass (must have with side of chips, which were SO GOOD) and the bangers & mash. Both were 10/10 and I'm still dreaming of them. Finally as many have mentioned on their reviews... the sticky toffee is life changing. Lastly, the wine offerings are fire and are a perfect complement to a perfect meal. Will be back to try the rest of the menu ASAP.

It’s a good night out. The high point is the vibe. Wonderfully cool and intelligent. The line if you don’t have a res is enjoyable; the conversation is elevated and the crowd is friendly. The food is great. We had a res so we’re seated immediately as if a reservation still means something. They were so kind when I reached out for the reservation. Truly individual service. I smiled when I ate because it took me back to my student days in London.

It's new, unique, and fantastic.
I've eaten here twice in the last week and have been impressed by the kitchen's ability to simply nail every dish -
The Welsh rarebit is to die for and the battered sea bass literally has no equal.
Eton mess? Bring it.
only note is the coffee at the end is way too acidic
