The food here is pretty authentic for LA Thai food, and the waitresses are really nice. Also, everything came quickly from the kitchen. When you take into account that everything everywhere has gotten more expensive lately, I think the prices are pretty fair. They only take cash though so be prepared for that.

I love the service, and they always give exactly what I ask for. Freshly cooked, I’ve had no complaints for the past 3 months since I started eating here for lunch or dinner

This place has significantly lost over 90% of its total customers since its peak in the late-2000s. Prices have tripled, now one of the highest prices, and it's still a cash only place. No credit. Next door Torung Thai is up to 50% less cost per item than Yai. Who has that many cash in their wallets these days, especially if there's a lot of homeless people loitering around the restaurant and Seven 11 market next to it.

Loved our lunch here! We ordered 3 dishes and were impressed with them all. Super authentic Thai food with quick and friendly service. Our waitress was very nice and packed our to-go boxes for us, she even gave us extra sticky rice to take home!

Second-Best Thai Restaurant in LA!
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. Their crispy pork with basil leaves was absolutely outstanding—easily the best I've found in the U.S.! The pork was perfectly crispy and flavorful, making it a must-try dish.

I also try their stir-fried water spinach and tom yum soup. The stir-fried water spinach had a delightful smoky flavor and was cooked to perfection, with the ideal texture and temperature. As for the tom yum, it was decent, but nothing extraordinary compared to the other dishes.

The service was exceptional. The staff were warm, attentive, and professional. Unfortunately, I forgot to get the name of the server who took care of us, but she did an excellent job and made the experience even better.

A quick note: This restaurant only accepts cash payments, so plan accordingly!

P'Yai is an institution in the Thai community and in Thai Town. I remember my mother taking me to eat here when I was a child and now, I am almost 50 years old! My family have been coming here to eat for two generations.

Personally, the food here is the most authentic and reminded me of the food that I grew up with in Bangkok.

Really good Thai chefs have also trained here and gone on to open their own restaurants in LA.

The staff are really sweet aunties that makes us feel like we are coming over to one of our aunts and uncles' houses to eat really good Thai food.

Rad Na, Pad See Ewe, Kai Lan w/ Crispy Pork, Grilled beef spicy salad are some of the dishes that's second to none here in Thai Town.

They have two locations, but we feel that this one on Hollywood Blvd is the best.

Please have some cash ready because this location is a CASH ONLY restaurant.
