Top 10 best meals I've had in my life. The service was outstanding, every plate was incredible, unique, layered, absolutely perfect. We were legitimately sad when we took our last bite. 10/10

I've been wanting to try different omakase places in the LA area for a while now, and stumbled upon Omakase by Ozen online - and I'm glad I came! Reservations were made quickly and easily via Yelp, and I love that I was able to change my reservation time without much of a hassle. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate after I took the MCAT, so we were extremely hungry when we got here. I think this place might have had valet out front, but we opted to just find street parking in the neighborhood for a ~5 minute walk (which worked out afterwards since it let us walk off our food!). The actual restaurant is a very small and quaint place; we sat at a table instead of the bar but I thought the decorations were very cute. Service was very fast and attentive. They handed us a menu as soon as we came in, and we ordered the $130 omakase - which was a pretty good deal for the quality of the food and the whole experience. I do have to say that I was not full after the meal (so my boyfriend and I ended up getting more food afterwards at a different place), but I did enjoy my time here. Definitely worth a try if you're celebrating because of the food and the service, but I personally don't think I'd come back for the omakase.

My first time at this omakase place. A friend recommended it, so we decided to give it a try. They only operate in the evenings from 5 to 10 pm and require reservations. Booking through Yelp is convenient, and they offer valet parking. We chose the Hazuki omakase. According to our server, the menu updates every three months with three different options. Our server was excellent, explaining each dish in detail. The timing was good, taking about an hour to complete the meal, and the prices were reasonable. We'll definitely come back.

It was my first time at this omakase restaurant. A friend recommended it, so we decided to give it a try. They only open in the evening from 5 to 10 pm and operate on a reservation basis. According to our server, the menu updates every three months with three different options. The interior decoration is also very Japanese, with a simple style. Best omakase I have ever had! Love the variety and the different textures. Every single piece hits differently.

Came here for my anniversary, made reservations online and had to put down a deposit but was easy to navigate. The ambiance was intimate, which is to be expected for omakase. Overall it was a decent experience for the price (about 150 each), however I've had better omakase before. We wish there more fresh fish nigiris on the menu rather than appetizers, and our sushi chef was not super interactive which we were hoping for to make our experience. They did give me a complimentary flower to celebrate our anniversary which was a sweet touch!

My fiancée and I decided to give this place a try and were left unimpressed. The restaurant was noisy, which took away the omakase vibe. We picked the signature omakase menu and the food was decent and fresh, but did not really wow us. The server actually missed part of the sushi course (it was brought out at the end after we already picked the dessert). Overall, this did not meet our initial expectations...

Wow. Food was out of this world. Sushi will never be the same. Alen is an artist and provided both amazing food and amazing service. The ambience was very intimate and classy, perfect for a nice night out with your significant other. Will definitely come again!

Head Chef Justin Rhee put on a fantastic service. I have never been overfull having Omakase but with him I could barely walk afterwards but I sure was here. Incredibly generous with the uni and caviar. Tons of different dishes and they keep everything seasonal. The price for the amount of food was an incredibly good deal. Doubt you can find anything as worth while in Los Angeles. I would 100% brave LA and echo park traffic to come again.

We had an absolute amazing experience dining here tonight. The food and service were absolutely exceptional and Chef Chris was an absolute delight. We will definitely be back soon!!

This place was amazing! The food was delicious and very colorful and unique in how they combined different things. Staff was also really attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and food being served.Only thing is that I wish there was more fish in the omakase. The portion sizes were also a bit small

I've frequented their sister izakaya restaurant down the street and have been wanting to try this place. We went for my boyfriend and I's anniversary and it was honestly delicious. We dined at a table rather than the bar and selected the Hazuki Omakase. Priced at $130 per person, the quality and number of dishes you receive are definitely worth it. The ambiance is great; it's a small restaurant, which I think is most fitting for a sushi spot. The atmosphere is quieter than most spots around the area, but still lively inside. The service was wonderful! Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. She explained each dish as she served them and offered the chef's recommendations on how to eat them. They even brought out a candle and a rose for us since we were celebrating. Each dish was beautifully presented. We really enjoyed the chef's selection of sushi, specifically the toro. The tai meshi was a personal favorite of mine, comprising of a piece of fried seabream in a thickened broth - just a delectable bite and blend of textures. The only dish that we didn't really enjoy was the kabocha cream soup, which was the opening dish. I think personally, we did not like the taste of the naked truffle slice in the soup. Overall, it was a lovely experience that we would return to.

Amazing first time experience! My boyfriend and I came to eat with his mom and baby sister. My boyfriend and I both had the Hazuki Omakase but ordered various cooked dishes for his mom and sister. Our Omakase was delicious and every dish was phenomenal. Tatum was our server and was so patient and welcoming with us as it was our first time dining here. She was especially helpful with finding cooked dishes for my boyfriend's sister as she has never had sushi before. Overall, great service, ambience and amazing first experience, we will definitely be back!

Service was alright. I went with my bf on his bday, and due to dietary restrictions, they swap out the wagyu to kampachi sashimi for me, but once i tasted it, it was slimy and obviously expired by the texture, and my bf also told me about the wagyu was not fresh. I couldn't swallow it so i went to the restroom and spit it out, and brought it up to the waitress and chef, but they thought by the look if it it has nothing wrong. My bf and I suggested they should taste it themselves. We've been to Ginza, Enya, sushi Q, Sawa, takeda, and nozawa, we know how a fresh sashimi tastes like, yet when they gave us the bill they tried to justify themselves by saying the chardonnay we were drinking can alter the taste of the sashimi. Worst excuse ever, trying to treat us like dumb, worst omakase ever. Please do not go.
