Everything is very tasty!

Freshest restaurant quality sashimi and sushi at a reasonable price in the U.S. Their sashimi is top notch. Highly recommend the Hamachi/yellowtail toro (so underrated), the scallops, and the squid/ika, but honestly any of the options won’t disappoint. Also a big fan of their tamago and their Takuan roll (which has fresh perilla leaves inside)!
If you’re a big sashimi/sushi enjoyer and value quality, this place is perfect!

My daughter and I stopped by Yama for the first time today, and were so happy we did. We eat sushi several times a month, and have visited restaurants on both coasts and overseas. This is by far the freshest sushi we've ever eaten - we tried the lemon roll, salmon bowl, California roll and spam masubi - everyhting was amazing. The shop itself has a low-key vibe and is pretty straightforward - you can choose from previously prepared (but very fresh) sushi in the fridges, warm food on the counter to the left, fresh fish at the counter and large variety of traditional seasonings, food and drinks. There are approx. 5 tables inside and 3 outside for those who want to dine in - we chose to sit inside. The overall experience was great with mininal communication needed from the employees, except to check out - everyone was pleasant. We will absolutely be returning!!

Unfortunately, the service from Linda was disappointing!! She was extremely rude and inattentive, which really took away from the experience. Won’t be coming back ever!

Beautifully boxed meals. I got the karaage and spam musubi box for dinner... enough to share with the hubby and a bit leftover for the next day. 😋 Next time gotta get the sushi, which I heard was great! Thanks for the tip Brian Min @Justahumblecook.
Love the building, which used to house a Starbucks. Parking is challenging- there's Chipotle next door.

Horrible service! The cashier named Linda was super rude and acted discriminatory against me…

Best quality fish on sashimi. Fatty tuna is the best! Diamond of mar vista

Super affordable and high quality!! Pretty busy inside but it is a well-oiled machine with lots of workers keeping food fresh and full. There is parking too

Best sushi I've had in Los Angeles, especially for the price. Such fresh fish, nice staff. Amazing Japanese products. I will be back regularly.

Don’t go on a Saturday - very busy.

Busy Sunday lunchtime vibes at Yama. High-quality sushi to-go. I was so hungry I devoured the sushi immediately, but I should have waited a beat for the rice to come down in temp (it was a bit cold for my palate). Standouts were the mayo-heavy California roll, salmon and various tuna cuts minus the blow torch selection

Incredible quality for the value!

I don’t know what took me so long to check out this sushi market but it was so fun!

Just enough snack and drink options to satisfy and a few trinkets if you’re looking for some Japanese’s home goods or a gift.

The core of this market is their fresh fish. You can purchase by the pound or head to the fridges to pick from an assortment of fresh hand made rolls.

There was an entire team in the back making sushi trays, bento boxes, and replenishing the grab and go fridge.

Clearly a lot of craft and care goes into the food as each tray was uniform and the fish was very fresh.

We grabbed a few rolls, some drinks, and sat at a table out front to enjoy the delicious bites.

This is a great option for a grab and good sushi night. If you aren’t headed home right away or have a long drive, you can ask for ice at checkout to keep your food cold.

We will definitely be stopping by Yama to feed our sushi cravings in the future.
