Don't go here PERIOD! I paid over $300 for set menus for a family of 4, and every single dish was garbage. I couldn't find meat or sea food in our food. I've been coming to this resturant for the past 30 years even when it was the Dragon Palace. When Hong Yeun was on Olympic, I liked the food, but it is not Hong Yeun that I know anymore. This place is dying. My family went here at a prime time 7PM on Saturday, but parking lot was almost empty...no wonder. People coming in and out all likely made the same comments and overheard a lady said that I would never come back. I am partly sad that a Chinese-Korean restaurant like this is closing down in our community, but I cannot accept the food quality and the dining experiences that I had tonight.

All sea cucumber-related menu items are priced at M.P., so I was thinking about coming for a company dinner, so I asked about the approximate price, and the person who appeared to be the manager simply replied, 'It's expensive, we only deal in high-quality sea cucumbers, so the prices are high.' He said, ‘If I see it, I can lower the price.’

Do I have to look good to the restaurant manager while eating? It was absurd. When I asked, it wasn't actually Korean or Japanese sea cucumber, which is considered the best product.

After that, the nanjawan and soybean paste that I ordered came out, and I was about to add jjajang to the noodles, but the same person came to the table in a hurry, stopped me and my group, and told us to add a little soybean paste and eat it. The overall nuance was, 'We are a high-end restaurant and you don't know this stuff.' It was a feeling.

The overall service was unpleasant and the food was not tasty enough to make up for the unpleasant experience.

I really refrain from leaving bad reviews on platforms like this, and I know how it affects the restaurant, so I mostly put up with it, but even after thinking about it several times, it was such a ridiculous and unpleasant experience that I am leaving a review.

Moving to the former Yonggung site, the atmosphere and service are further improved.
The combo menu for lunch is cheap and good.
Female managers are also kind and friendly.

I had sweet and sour pork, black bean paste, and black bean noodles, and they were all very delicious. There is a lot of seafood in the tray jjajang.

Hongyeon is a Chinese restaurant that was originally located at the Rotex Hotel on Olympic Street in Los Angeles and moved to the former Yonggung Chinese Restaurant location. About 40 people from the church visited as a group. I think it was the biggest room, but they set up 5 round tables for 8 people. We ordered a course meal for 8 people at each table. About the taste, half of the 40 people said it was okay, while the other half said it was not as tasty as expected. It seems to have a little less flavor than the old Hongyeon. The service didn't seem to be what I was used to yet, and although two people helped us, when I asked for something, the service wasn't done quickly. I wanted to use the microphone in my room, but it didn't work. I had no intention of going back.

The food quality worsened since they moved to a new location. Valet parking service was a mess. Not enough servers.

The price is too expense and the quantity is small. Most dishes are over $40. I won't go again. Valet parking is $4, too.

I was so hungry that I forgot to take photos before finishing everything! The food was delicious, and I ended up with a clean plate. I ordered the three seafood gan chachiang mein and wen lu mein, and for dessert, they served caramelized Sweet Potato. However, the dessert was brought out in the middle of the main course, which was a bit odd timing-wise.

This restaurant offers valet parking, but street parking is quite difficult to find, and it’s important to be cautious since there are homeless individuals nearby. The area around the restaurant is a bit dark, so extra attention to safety is recommended. Overall, the food was excellent, though the surrounding environment felt a bit unsettling.
