I heard good things about Yunomi and I was looking for a new restaurant to try with a friend and we came here! We got the 3-roll combo because we are both broke college students and felt like this was a good combination that could allow us to sample some of the options.

The tuna was fairly unmemorable but the quality of the fish was solid. The salmon was buttery and had a very clean bite, which was probably my favorite roll. I liked the crispiness of the tempura and the contrast with the cucumber, but it was a little batter heavy.

Overall, it was a little pricey for how much food it was but 3 rolls was sufficiently filling for me.

I have visited Yunomi like 7 times and it was never disappointing. They are making good tempura which is the reason I always get the Rock shrimp tempura. Also the Sunomono(cucumber salad) is good for appetizer too(I uploading lots of pic of them lol). For the handroll, Yunomi special, Unagi, Scallop, Tuna are fire! Don't forget join waitlist through yelp before you arrive. It is usually crowded during lunch or dinner time.

First time at Yunomi and it definitely won’t be the last!

The atmosphere is modern with a great sense of style — clean, welcoming! I tried a few hand rolls, and every single one was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The Negi Toro and Yunomi Special were absolute standouts — seriously, next-level good.

The staff were super friendly and made the experience even better with some pleasant, casual conversation. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable.

Highly recommend if you're into quality food and a chill vibe. Will definitely be coming back soon!

Stopped in here for just a beer and the kitchen accidentally made me a spicy salmon hand roll even though I had closed my tab. They let me have it for free and oh my God it was the best sushi roll I have ever had in my life. Perfectly cooked rice, well marinated salmon that wasn't too spicy and the seaweed wrap wasn't crunchy, which I prefer. This place is truly a hidden gem you need to go to! I would have reopened my tab if my group wasn't waiting for me.

popular handroll spot.

The atmosphere was welcoming and the service attentive, and overall, it delivered a solid dining experience.

That said, speaking from the perspective of someone familiar with traditional Asian flavors and techniques, the food leaned more toward a modern, Western-friendly interpretation of handrolls. The ingredients were fresh and presentation clean, but the depth and authenticity that you’d typically find in more traditional or regionally rooted establishments felt somewhat muted.

It’s clear the place is doing well and resonates with a broad audience, especially those newer to Japanese cuisine — which is great to see in terms of expanding appreciation for the food. Still, for those seeking a more nuanced or heritage-inspired experience, this might not fully hit the mark.

Best handrolls anywhere. The spicy tuna shrimp tempura roll is insanely good. Love this place!! I wish they would open at 11:30am instead of noon.

I visited Yunomi Handroll on a Sunday around lunchtime, and while some elements of the meal were enjoyable, the overall experience left a lot to be desired.

To start with the positives: the Unagi was flavorful and well-prepared—tender, with just the right amount of sweetness and char. The fried shrimp appetizer was another highlight: crispy, hot, and perfectly seasoned. Service at the counter was fast and efficient once we were seated, and the food came out quickly.

Unfortunately, getting to that point was a whole ordeal. Parking was a nightmare, and once we arrived, there was a wait to be seated despite I got waitlisted 45 minutes ago. Once seated, we found the seating to be very uncomfortable—tight spacing, stiff stools, and a general lack of comfort that made it hard to settle in and enjoy the meal. For a place where you’re meant to sit and eat rolls fresh as they come out, the setup felt rushed and cramped.

Bottom line: Yunomi has some tasty menu items, particularly the Unagi and fried shrimp, and the kitchen moves fast—but the logistics and environment make it hard to recommend, especially on a busy weekend. If you go, consider visiting at an off-hour and prepare to eat quickly.

Really love this place. Waited 30 minutes for a table on a Friday night. The seating is around the kitchen/ bar top area and it’s nice and quiet. Perfect date night spot. They season the seaweed perfectly that’s why the hand rolls are out of this world. We each got the 6 hand roll combo and couldn’t even finish the 6th it was so filling. Our favorites were the spicy tuna, salmon and the scallop. Our bill came out at to around $70 for two, not bad at all. Highly recommend this place!
