Great experience! Service was extraordinary. There was a great vibe in The Bywater last night!

First visit for four of us on a Saturday around 6:00 pm. Specialty drinks (Sazeracs, Hurricane) well-made. The fried chicken dinner w/cole slaw delicious and definitely worth coming back for, as are the hush puppies and levain bread for appetizers. Gumbo a bit much combined w/chicken and was not really the flavor punch I had expected. Hamburger was raved about. 6-Star Service!-waitress comped an appetizer and desert, plus added an extra beignet due to slow service. Honestly, we hadn't noticed much of a wait and is a future destination big time! Parking in back can be rough for first-timers. Oh, yeah, try the Butterscotch Pot de Creme.

This is our first time at The Bywater, and it didn't disappoint! We ordered the biscuits, breakfast plate with brisket, and grits. All were very good. What stood out were the biscuits and the brisket.

High-ish prices for small portions. Went home hungry after my $35 salmon supper and half my daughter’s burger. Lame.

Met up with family while i was in the area. They love this place. I’m glad they told me about this place. Will definitely be coming back. Had the hush puppies as an app. The fried oyster Po boy sandwich was delicious. Also had a couple of cocktails. Service was great.

The Bywater is an absolute gem. The service is genuinely excellent—attentive, warm, and never overbearing, which immediately sets the tone for a great dining experience. And the food? I honestly can’t get enough of it. Every dish is flavorful, thoughtfully prepared, and consistently satisfying.
It’s the kind of place that keeps you coming back, not just for one standout item, but for the entire experience.

What a wonderful surprise! I decided to treat my hubby to a southern dinner for his birthday. The food was awesome and the service was excellent! Be sure to try the Red Beans and Rice. Still craving the wonderful flavors of our meal.

Tasty enough food and drinks, but a bit pricey for what it is. Surprise 4% surcharge a deal breaker for 5*’s. Hurricane was good but a fair bit of ice. Fried chicken was fine, but nothing stood out from KFC. Gumbo my wife got was good.
I now recall why we visit infrequently.

Service and atmosphere very good. Food portions varied significantly, for example gumbo portion very scant
Some dishes quite spicy, would advice patron to question prior to ordering if sensitive.

Had a fun dinner with friends. The food and the beer were great. The duck breast was well made, very tasty and savory.

Bywater sells Cajun and Creole dishes of the highest quality and flavor. Their beignets are to die for, and their gumbo will warm you right up. The service is prompt and friendly and oyster happy hour is a big favorite with the customers. Their bar is also pretty well stocked, try some of their cocktails.

We absolutely loved our meal at The Bywater. We had high hopes and were still blown away by everything. Our favorite was definitely the shrimp po boy, but the hush puppies and gumbo were both delicious as well.

Will for sure be back!
