First visit for four of us on a Saturday around 6:00 pm. Specialty drinks (Sazeracs, Hurricane) well-made. The fried chicken dinner w/cole slaw delicious and definitely worth coming back for, as are the hush puppies and levain bread for appetizers. Gumbo a bit much combined w/chicken and was not really the flavor punch I had expected. This is our first time at The Bywater, and it didn't disappoint! We ordered the biscuits, breakfast plate with brisket, and grits. All were very good. What stood out were the biscuits and the brisket.
Met up with family while i was in the area. They love this place. I’m glad they told me about this place. Will definitely be coming back. Had the hush puppies as an app. The fried oyster Po boy sandwich was delicious. Also had a couple of cocktails. Service was great.
