John’s Garden is one of those true Malibu classics. I’ve been coming here for years, and it’s still one of the best spots in the Country Mart for a fresh, simple, and consistently great meal. 5 star review from us! My girlfriend and I were passing through en route to the airport in a hurry, asked how many minutes it would take to get a chicken bowl to go. They told us 8 minutes and had it out in 5 minutes, and it was a really tasty bowl! Staff was super friendly.

20 dollars for a sandwich that had barely any avocado or patty and was 90% lettuce is abominable 😭😭😭 especially for a place where you have to get up and get your food yourself. i wouldn’t mind paying 20 if it was at least good but all i got was bread and lettuce basically. the people that work there are nice but the food is not good and esp not worth the price.

I absolutely love their tuna salad sandwich and have found this to be one of the few places I can get sprouts over lettuce. Amazing alternative!
They always have a wide variety of chips and drinks to complement your meal.
Don’t be surprised if you experience less than stellar customer service though. Staff is often slammed with orders and guest that aren’t very attentive, which I’m sure is frustrating but not an excuse to be rude.
The quality of the food is what keeps me coming back, and since this is not a sit down restaurant it’s easy to ignore the okay counter culture here.

Had a great Sunday in Malibu, at the beach, walking around and ended up getting lunch from John's Garden. I ordered the BU-BERRY protein smoothie and a chicken avocado wrap with side salad, and could not be more pleased with the food and customer service. Everyone working there was very welcoming and friend.
