We're big fans of Lucky's in Montecito, so we were excited to finally try the Malibu location. While the service and atmosphere were very good, and the staff was very attentive and pleasant, the food was a big disappointment, especially given the price. We usually order the filet at Lucky's, but this time decided to branch out and try other menu items, which unfortunately fell flat. Overall, it felt overpriced for how underwhelmed we were by the food.
We always love Lucky's. Great steaks, great seafood, fantastic cocktails and wonderful engaged service.
Loved Brads crisp martini! Great food! Service from Brian was awesome and Chef Johnathan stopped by to check on us- great guy! Definitely our best meal so far in Malibu! Highly recommend
Great restaurant with attentive service. Not inexpensive, but in line with the quality of food and service which is superb.
Food was ok. Nothing to write home about. Service was fantastic. Ambience was a little loud, but eh. Prices were high, all things considered. I probably won't go back.

Always a good experience at Lucky's. Excellent service, delicious food, wonderful drinks. My overall favorite restaurant in Malibu!
Lucky’s Malibu is always a great experience — amazing food, classic steakhouse ambiance, and a beautiful setting right in the heart of Malibu. I stop in often with clients, friends, and colleagues because it offers that perfect mix of elevated dining and relaxed Malibu charm. Whether it’s lunch, dinner, or a quick bite at the bar, Lucky’s is consistently excellent and one of my go-to local favorites.
Lucky’s Malibu is always a fantastic experience. The food is consistently excellent, the service is warm and professional, and the atmosphere fits perfectly into the luxury coastal lifestyle Malibu is known for. I often stop in before or after real estate appointments, and it’s also a great spot to bring clients or friends for a relaxed lunch or dinner. The team is attentive, the space is beautiful, and the quality is always top-notch. A true Malibu favorite and a great addition to the community.

Restaurantji Recommends
My server was not attentive at all. My table did you not get bread until we had ordered our food, which we expected when we first sat down as we had been waiting for 30 minutes after our reservation to be seated. It was my birthday and normally you receive ice cream and a candle; which I did not get but other tables did. He only came to check on us once. Would not recommend this place.
Blink and you miss it! Crowded but not in a bad way, seems to be a fave place for people! The ambience was nice and the restaurants staff was great BUT the food was subpar at best. My NY Strip tastes like a slice roast improperly cooked. It was a thick chunk of bland dryness. The Mac n cheese was very reminiscent of something that came out of a box. I enjoyed the mashed potatoes though. I did taste someone’s Porterhouse and it was pretty good though and the desserts were refreshing.

Food quality was kind of a let down. I expected higher quality of steak. We ordered enough food for family style eating.
Salad-Needs more seasoning.
Mac and cheese -good
NY steak- okay
Philly steak sandwich-good
Spinach-plain
Mash potatoes-okay
Creme bru dessert- okay
Tiramasu -okay
Bill total over $400
Would we come back, no. Much rather have Fleming, Ruth Chris, even Outback for the price.
The service was good.

Malibu's finest by Far! The attention to detail from the ambient lighting to their out of this world Martini's, the multitude of dipping sauces for your Steak, and their incredible bread basket. Lucky's gives you an experience beyond just your meal.
Went on a Saturday eve around 7:15 and it was packed. Started with a salad that was excellent. Shared a NY strip that was also excellent along with small sides of creamed spinach, Mac and cheese and mushrooms. When you get the steak, you have the choice of having it sliced, having it sliced in half or not having it sliced at all. I did not want it sliced because it stays warmer that way. When it came to us, it had been sliced. The waitress felt really bad and offered to have it remade but at that point, we didn't want to wait plus our sides were there. Well, all sides other than the mushrooms which didn't show up until halfway through finishing our main course. I guess mistakes happen but when you are paying a lot of money, you are paying for things to be near perfect. The waitress was really helpful and she felt so bad although it wasn't her fault. I think they comped the mushrooms and maybe one other thing. In the end though, it was all good and we would definitely go back.
