I love accessing the Sara Wan trailhead at Malibu Seafood — it’s one of my go-to Malibu hikes. And after the trail loop, Malibu Seafood is the perfect spot to grab something fresh and enjoy the ocean-view patio. Definitely one of those classic Malibu combos I never get tired of.

When they get the seafood right, it’s knock out of the park. Best lobster salad I have EVER had, and fried fish and chips, and their New England clam clowder is on par with the east coast. Skip the scallop ceviche unless for some strange reason you like a tomatoey vs citrusy ceviche (weirdo) and I found their fish tacos meh. Very specific relaxing beach vibes, and can be a long wait, but it’s a lovely time, drive, and fresh seafood, as well as takeout and market.

There was a small line that moves pretty quickly. We ordered the small clam chowder, which was amazing, the 2 fish tacos to split, they come with a lot of fish and were grilled to perfection, and the ceviche, was fresh and had small scallops and came with chips. We sat on the upper patio overlooking the ocean and enjoyed our perfect lunch. I already want to go back.

They have FRIED CLAM STRIPS!!! A rare thing to find on the west coast. Very good!! Fish and shrimp are fresh and good.
