I felt that the food was inspirational. This restaurant made me excited for what else Malibu California has to offer!
Amazing staff Cuisine Ambience From start to finish an overall exceptional culinary journey Passionfruit sake is the best we've ever had
Our server, Kardell, was amazing and totally made our experience even better than usual. Food is always great. Cannot beat the ambience but having a server make things extra special is the best.
From the start peter the manager was rude. He informed us if we didn't the table he offered we can lay the cancellation fee and leave. He didnt even try to turn things around. When i arrived i read the feedback about the service and unfortunately it was true. The only good thing we had was the yellow tail. Nigiris were very bad un-eatable. Service: 0/10 Food: -100/10 Never again.
Waiter gave us the wrong bill for $700. Hubby was about to pay it. I said I dont think so... took a look and it wasn't ours. Our bill was $400. I hope he didn't do it on purpose. Wasn't very professional to give our table the incorrect bill.
Incredible! We were able to get a drink at the bar prior to our reservation. Sat on the inner patio and had a great time. Our server was fabulous, as was everyone else we encountered. Loved our cocktails (had the whiskey special) and our sushi. Split the bento box dessert (recommend the matcha ice cream!). Beautiful night. Will be back next time we are in California!
Had a lovely time celebrating my sisters birthday. We had a table out on the patio and it was a clear warm beautiful day in Malibu. Service was excellent, the bussers, the server, the hostess, everyone was lovely. Food was great, sushi was fresh and our miso sea bass was tasty. Def coming back when I can book a reservation again. The strawberry cheesecake was delicious as well. They wrote my sisters name on the plate to make it even more special. Thank you!
Back in our Malibu home for a short stay after five years — the first restaurant we went to was Nobu. Aside from an unpleasant valet parking experience, everything else was pretty good. But overall, it didn't feel as impressive as it did a few years ago.
The asian lady who was standing at the front desk with long hair and black suit was very rude
Excellent food, value, and service. We've been to four other Nobu restaurants and this was by far the best value!

Service was very slow today compared to all the other times I've been there. Additionally, they confirmed that they had that it's my bday today but the dessert came with no acknowledgment. I love Nobu but today's service was disappointing.
We have been to many Nobus and even this Nobu back in 2018 but felt it was not the same magic experience it used to be. Our service guy seemed stretched covering too many tables, we had to wait longer than usual for food.
Not a Celebrity, Just a Paying Customer The food was good, but the service? Absolutely disappointing — especially considering the bill was over $300. I may not be a celebrity, but I paid with the same currency they do. We were seated and left waiting for nearly 10 minutes before anyone even offered us water. Keep in mind there's a strict 1 hour and 45 minute time limit at this restaurant, so the delay was not only frustrating but also cut into our dining experience. Raul was the only one who seemed to care—he offered us water, and I appreciated that. Trying to flag down a server felt like I was invisible. They literally looked away from me as I tried to make eye contact. Our actual server eventually showed up but never introduced herself. She had a hair scrunchie on her wrist—working around food—which didn't exactly scream professionalism. Her attitude made it clear we were an inconvenience, not guests. Funny how no one had an issue showing up when the check arrived. They lingered, watching closely to see which tip option I would select. That part of the service? Prompt and attentive. This place doesn't need my review—it's obvious they're used to high traffic and hype. But here's the truth: it's the everyday diners like us who keep their business alive. And with service like this, I'd honestly prefer sushi from 7-Eleven
The front house staff are probably the rudest people I've ever met. They came up with some lame excuse that we couldn't move our table because the owners were coming. No owner was sat at any table while we were there. The manager was rude. The hostess seemed like she didn't care about anything. Overall just rude people selling fish.
If you want to go for a view or cocktail it's amazing, especially the secret menu cocktail. The place looks nice and view is beautiful but the service wasn't good. When we sat down the waiter was good and very helpful. After he took our drink order he disappeared and we never knew our new waiter and we had to ask employees to get a waiter to serve us all the time. The amount of money spend on a place that didn't help us. I don't recommend that but the view is one of the best, especially during sunset.
