We stumbled upon Tra Di Noi in Malibu completely by chance, and it turned out to be one of those rare discoveries that instantly lifts your mood. The location is beautiful: just as we arrived the sun came out, so we decided to sit outside, and the whole atmosphere felt relaxed yet refined, effortless in the best possible way.
We didn’t even know the owner was Italian… but you can truly taste it in every detail of the food.
The tuna tartare was absolutely outstanding, incredibly fresh, perfectly balanced, elegant without being overdone. One of those dishes you wish would never end.
And then came the tonnarelli with tomato sauce. Honestly, I don’t even remember the last time I had a pasta like this, not even in Italy. Pure flavor, total respect for real Italian cuisine, no unnecessary twists, no “Americanized” interpretation. Just quality ingredients, perfect execution, and real passion. That’s extremely rare.
The service was warm and kind, attentive but never intrusive, totally in harmony with the place.
A special mention goes to Alfonso and Edwin, who looked after us with warmth, professionalism, and genuine kindness. Their service made the whole experience even more memorable, truly outstanding.
In short: this isn’t just a restaurant where you eat well, it’s a place where you genuinely feel good. And that, to me, is priceless ⭐️

Food is usually very good, this time however it was very bland. Lasagna was bland except for the sauce which saved it, eggplant parmesan had no parmesan cheese and the sauce was like tomato juice. Very disappointing and hopefully just an off night for the chef. The service was excellent as usual.

For a fast-order spot, it’s impressive how fresh and satisfying the food feels. The portion was plenty for lunch, and at about $19, it matched Malibu pricing but didn’t feel over the top.

We were in the area and decided to have an early dinner, so we decided to try this place and sat in the outside patio area. Everyone was pleasant and attentive from the hostess to the waiters. Good wine selection and the prosciutto pizza was great! Would happily return.
