Zinqué is a new Malibu culinary gem in the rough, and a work in progress… in desperate need for improvement.
GREAT LOCATION
GREAT LOOK
CLEAN FACILITIES
GOOD FOOD
FRIENDLY WAITSTAFF
POOR HOST / SEATING STAFF
EXTREMELY LONG WAIT/
BAD INITIAL SERVICE
NEEDS DRASTIC IMPROVEMENT
I CAME BACK THE FOLLOWING DAY, TO
GIVE THEM ANOTHER CHANCE…
Host staff very friendly, yet, not very adept.
Front of the house mgmt. Ignored our presence, while we waited to be greeted, we were standing right next to them!…(at host podium), waiting to be acknowledged and seated, while hostess and manager were looking at a seating list & discussing among themselves and ignoring our party of SEVEN!! (NO EXCUSES! Danger to lose future business and patronage from us)
Once, finally seated, The hostess sat us at the very back, in a patio section I’ll call: ‘the forgotten guests zone’.
It took the waiter from 15-20 minutes to finally come and take our orders (notice, I said ‘take our orders’ , and Not : ‘SERVE’ is yet!)
Our waiter (from Granada, Spain) was very friendly… and the food was good too. So, “two out of five, ain’t bad”
NOTE:
I CAME BACK THE FOLLOWING DAY, TO
GIVE THEM ANOTHER CHANCE…
The, ‘self help, ‘order & pick up at the deli counter’ concept was okay.
The cashier/ bartender was very gracious at patiently explaining the many different breakfast/ brunch menu items, and making suggestions.
Our breakfast experience and then
Restaurant’s breakfast vibe & experience was so much better.
I may return again (to give them a third chance at redemption)

Terrific stop for amid day brunch. Tasty, healthy and delightful choices on the menu with fairly attentive wait staff. I had never been and will surely come back. Not inexpensive, you get what you pay for in tasty fresh healthy food.

Great food, and Garrett our bartender was super funny and poured a great G&T. Highly recommend ordering the Branzino, it was killer.

Excellent ? atmosphere
If you’re going to spend money on food in Malibu there are better places to spend it.
Food is fine to not very good. It’s feels like a place that doesn’t have its feet under itself. They dont have enough menus or waiters and front of house staff.
Also it bills itself as a French restaurant. It’s not. Just fyi the $16 breakfast sandwich is a bad riff on McDonald’s egg McMuffin with an up charge if you want meat.

The restaurant is very beautiful, has incredible potential but fails in its essentials.
I went as a couple, we ordered 2 dishes, one was served and only 15 minutes later the other arrived.
I was not given cutlery to eat when the first course arrived.
My plate was chipped.
The Lasagna was good but the Bolognese pasta was bland.
