Legit and delicious Puerto Rican / Cubano food, wonderfully owner operated, welcoming and fun oasis. We were lucky enough to come in on the shoulder season and stumble on this place after a long trip from Catalina to LA to Mammoth. Probably very difficult to get a table during the peak seasons. A little hard to find, park in the ranch gravel parking lot and walk the path, well worth it!

Cristi the owner is amazing and both the food and service are the best. The location is incredible, we saw deer migration trough our window. Our server was Rudy and he's great too.

Amazing! As Cubans living in Miami, we never expected to find such a delicious Cuban/Puerto Rican restaurant in Mammoth Lakes. We made reservations at 8:30 pm and were seated promptly. The food, the service and ambiance were excellent! You can tell the owner Christy loves what she does because she gave us great recommendations. We had the garlic bread, piñon with rice and habichuelas (red kidney beans), and pork with rice and black beans. Highly recommend checking it out, you won’t regret it.

Fantastic from beginning to end! A perfect experience from the front door to paying the bill. We had the Cuban Sandwich (which just might have been the best Cuban I've ever had) and the Garlic Port Sandwich along with tostones and black beans. The waiter Noel was very friendly and helpful and the Christie, the owner stopped by to chat with us for a while and shared a few great stories with us.

Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian menu we were offered

Watching the sunset at Mammoth while listening to great music and eating fabulous food is a perfect way to enjoy the evening. A must visit if you are at Mammoth or within 100 miles!

Great place to have dinner! We are not familiar with the Cuba & Puerto Ricco kitchen, and everything was delicious!!! The restaurant designed with a great taste of latin america and was very colorful. The staff were friendly and had a great service!

Long wait time so make sure you have a reservation. They close the kitchen at 9pm so you can always come back later.

The food is good, except for the grilled chicken. It's very dry and not much flavor.

Overall good experience and I would recommend!

Despite having a reservation and arriving exactly on time we had to wait more than half an hour for a table. There were two parties that arrived after us and were sat before us, including a party of the same size. One of the waiters literally told us that he didn’t know why we hadn’t been sat yet but his boss just decided so.

We hoped that the food would make up for the bad beginning of the night but it didn’t really. It wasn’t terrible but nothing id like to eat again. The music was way too loud.

In a tiny building on the outskirts of Mammoth you will find one of the best restaurants in the area, Dos Alas. This place not only has the best views around, but also some of the most flavorful food. You must try the pickled shrimp and octopus, and order a side of garlic bread to go with it. The pinon and glazed ham are also top tier, but really you can't go wrong.

The place gets crowded, so a reservation is a must.

you pay for the ambiance.

we came in right when they opened in the middle of the week and they asked if we had a reservation. it’s not listed clearly on the website or on google.

the waitress recommended the garlic bread and cuban black beans but she pretty much forced us to get it. luckily it was good but she could have used a different sales approach to recommended it.

my boyfriend ordered the picadillo. it was great. i ended up eating some of his.

i ordered the camarónes en escabeche. i was so disappointed when i saw it. most escabeche has more than just olives and onion in it.

after one of the waitresses saw that i wasn’t happy with the escabeche they gave me fried plantains on the house. when the plantains came, a different waitress came. i’m assuming the owner. the owner stated that the shrimp was the highest quality.

for drinks we got the agave wine. very good with some plantains.

after we were done the waitress straight up asked how much we wanna tip. most people say “it’s gonna ask you a question right here”. i said thank you for helping us and that i had a good experience despite the escabeche. and she ignored me.

the menu is chaotic and has random sentences in Spanish that seem over the top.

This place deserves 5 stars.
MAKE A RESERVATION.

The food was top tier, really delicious and full of flavor. We started with the pickled shrimp and octopus, with a boiled egg on top, and accompanied with an order of the garlic bread (perfect for the pickled juices). Fantastic.

For our mains, we had the Pinon (plantain & beef lasagna) and the Guava Glazed Ham, with a side of both rices and both beans. It was all unbelievable. Incredibly delicious.

For the most part we had great service. We did have a 6:30 reservation, and as the night went on, the worse the service was.
People waiting for menus, and then even longer to get an order in. It is during the off season, and clearly understaffed, so have patience. The table next to us ordered refills on their wine 3 times before they finally got it, and by that time it was the end of their dinner. Despite all of this, would definitely return again and again.
