This place isn’t much to look at but that doesn’t matter. The food is amazing! Get some tacos and I guarantee you’re gonna come back.This place reminds me of the authentic taco trucks I’d go to late night in Los Angeles but the quality is a lot better!

Mmm how do I begin? what a poor customer service the owner of the place has ? when asked for the sour cream and guacamole on the side, they said she had said no sour cream or guacamole then she told them she said on the side because it was included but mixed by them. We tried to clarify but they would not give the sour cream. I asked the owner or person in charge tonight and he said it was too late and won’t give us what would be a tablespoon of sour cream because the food was already given to us. His attitude was such as to say to me that he can report us because all the business owners know each other and will report us too. I told him well too bad because we are leaving early in the morning but I can’t believe what a poor service you have for your customers, and told him we too are business owners and would never do that to a customer. I asked him if the sour cream is from a bottle and he said yes! And you cannot give that to my daughter? He said no.I know my family is probably writing a bad reviews as well. We could not believe they will have such an attitude for something that was included in the order but because of a misunderstanding they will not just give such a tinny thing and instead became really angry as a team and said they will report us…??No wonder the place had one table busy when we went in.I should have checked the reviews and would have seen the bad reviews before trying the place?We will never go back there next time we come back for our skiing vacations. And if I see a place kind of empty for dinner, will definitely, read reviews before going in?

Terrible and rude customer service. They refused to give us part of our order even though it's included in the menu description and in the price of the item. If they get your order wrong and you ask them to fix it, the manager will come out to argue and threaten to "report you to all the local restaurants".....whatever that even means.

Ordered the Taco salad with beans and rice, asked for the sour cream and guacamole on side, they said I asked for no sour cream and because of that they didn’t want to give me sour cream, the taco salad cost 11.99 with sour cream and guacamole but wouldn’t give me the sour cream only guacamole on side. Plus the male manager came out and said he would report our whole group to all the restaurants because they “know each other”. This is basically a self service Mexican food taqueria, meaning you have paper plates/silverware and self services salsas. We included tip for this meal. Wouldn’t recommend if you are looking for good service, something so small as a side of sour cream that was already included in the price of the taco salad.Vegetarian options: Pinto beans and rice.

Love this place. We are in Mammoth about once a month and know all the great Mexican places, and this is our favorite. There are others that are great, but this one is a tad better. I'm normally not a crunchy taco guy, but they offer a carne asada crunchy taco (most won't) that is the best crunchy taco I've ever had. You order the "American Taco" but make sure to ask for it crunchy style.
The food was so good and the cashier were so nice and gave good vibes I 100% recommend this place to anyone that happens to stop by mammoth lakes.

Just want to commend Miguel and the rest of the staff at El charro taqueria for excellent customer service and the great food they serve, was really impressed with the way we were treated several days ago when my wife and I stopped by to get an order of Salsa, will definitely visit this establishment next time my family and I are visiting Mammoth.
