Staff and security are rude and think they are above everyone. Not worth the price for that smelly place

Was waiting for someone to take my order. No one showed up. We had to go to the bar. & it was a very slow day. Not even the bartender went to our table to take the order. Another thing the restroom was mot clean. It smells very bad.

After a long day mountain biking in Mammoth, hubbs and I went to Lakanuki's for a beer and a Mai Tai. It's shoulder season here and it was perfect! We sat in the patio where it was nice a breezy on a 85+ degrees day. The service was fantastic and we went back the next night. I had a Pina Colada, that was divine and hubbs had another beer! The atmosphere and decor is something you would find in Hawaii, not in a mountain town, so that made it so much fun.

Kid-friendliness: There were kids in the patio playing.

It started off a bit slow but then was a full packed house. Good music!

Let me start by saying I’ve worked years in hospitality and tend to give the benefit of the doubt, but my experience here was INSANE. When we arrived at 3p opening we were not greeted by the two bartenders and were treated as if we were an inconvenience as one of the three parties there. I was the one to say “hey how’s it going?” after a while of already sitting down at the bar in front of them. Without seeing a menu, I saw from posters that there were two different Mai tais (<$10 and $18). When I asked the male bartender what the difference between the two were, he replied with a one word answer with indignation “ingredients”. Absolutely blew me away. When I asked if the kitchen was open and for a menu, bartender seemed annoyed to have to bring them to us, yet only returned with drink menus. Asked a second time for food menus and was told to try the “other good food in the village”… If I were this business owner I would fire this dude on the spot. Had to interrupt him and the female bartender telling stories excessively cursing right in front of us to ask to order food. We’re all adults but man was it unprofessional and killing the “tiki” vibe. The happy hour Mai Tai was just pre-made in a pitcher warm on the actual bar top but was fine. What was interesting was the classic cheeseburger was actually solid and tasted homemade. And who I perceived to be the chef that brought it out was friendly and great! I wonder if it was the owner; it seemed like the bartenders perked up when he was around. I’d go back for the burger if the chef was behind the bar. Maybe I put off tourist vibes and that’s Mammoth culture. I’ll give it another try if I ever go back.

Owner if you’re reading this, I like the concept, food and chef. But put your wake board charter boy on a PIP for goodness sakes. He’s literally trying to down sell customers.

Absolutely terrible, everything about this place is a zero star.
The floor and table were dirty,. There were napkins , fries, other food on the floor, under tables, just terrible. The food was disgusting, we ordered fries, chicken tenders, rice with fish, loaded nachos. Everything tasted so bad, old, stinky. The server didn’t speak any English, so it was impossible to communicate. I don’t know how places like this one exist.
