Do not be turned off by the location and the fact that the restaurant is on top floor of a bowling alley and guests need to walk through the boleing crowd to their table.
The food is exceptionally good.
Service is ultra friendly with a personal touch.
We will include this on our future list of restaurant on our next visit.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend the creamy mushroom soup—it was so delicious that I’d go back just for it. The caramel brûlée was also excellent. However, the rest of the dishes were fairly average.

Outstanding service by our serverSophie. Very attentive who made sure that our food/drinks were fully satisfactory. Several of us had the elk medallions and one had duck. All outstanding. Mammoth Rock Brasserie is a hidden gem and the perfect place for a special meal. My wife enjoyed celebrating her 65th birthday last night. Thank you Chef, Sophie and staff for the wonderful evening.
Mammoth Rock Brasserie offers an elegant one of a kind scenic setting for a special dining experience. Welcoming professional staff. Great cocktails . We enjoyed garden fresh tomatoes and a yummy mushroom risotto special. The menu offers lots of tempting choices that will keep us coming back. Definitely put this restaurant on your list when you visit Mammoth.
We have been coming to Mammoth in the summer since 1990. We often dined at Lakefront where the current chef and owner of the Brassiere was. The food was excellent and we always had a wonderful experience. We were thrilled to learn he had opened his own restaurant and have dined there many times. Our experience on Tuesday was far below expectations starting with the waiter. My husband called him rough around the edges.' I think he was abrupt and outright rude. We ordered the tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad to share. The waiter plopped it down in front of me. No plates to place the food on for each of us and no serving spoon to lift the vegetables on to a plate so we used our bread plates. The salad was good but had a bit too much olive oil. My husband ordered the special scallops and he was happy with his meal. I ordered the Filet Mignon and asked for rare. It was delivered with no steak knife, I had to ask for one. It really didn't matter. The meat was overcooked and the sauce gelatinous. I had a few bites and asked to take it home where when I return home I plan to feed it to my two hunting dogs. If the waiter came by at all it was to try w take a plate from my husband before he was finished. I'm extremely sad to see such a great restaurant go down hill. Never will we return and hope next year that Skadi opens up again.
Dinner at the Brasserie was a wonderful experience. Our server provided excellent service, the food was fantastic ambiance and view were great. The chef came to our table following the dinner, which was a much appreciated bonus. We come to Mammoth Lakes annually for trout fishing, and the never disappoints. Best restaurant in Mammoth!
a little corner of France in the USA

Best meal we have had in a long time. I cannot believe this understated place in a bowling alley puts out food of this quality. I’m an admitted food snob and I absolutely loved this place.from our Stanford student/server to our accommodating hostess, we had a wonderful dinner. Cannot say enough. What a gem.

This was our first time at the Brasserie. Our hotel recommended the restuarant to us for its beautiful view. Which did not disappoint! We ate on the heated patio with views of the gorgeous mountains. But the food is what will bring us back. Just delicious. My husband started with the heirloom and burratta appetizer which was killer; our server said the chef grows his own hothouse tomatoes and they were spectacular. Then he loved his (rare) elk medallions and I adored the scallops special. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. It was a meal worthy of LA or San Francisco--and here we were in Mammoth dining comfortably al fresco in late summer, with a backdrop of the Sierras. It was a special evening. I highly recommend the Brasserie. We'll be back!
The food, service and experience have not changed in the 20 years my husband and I have eaten at the Brasserie from back when the chefs were at the Tamarack Lodge. This consistent high quality experience is why we keep coming back to the Brasserie every time we are in Mammoth.

There is too much noise. People who don't want to go bowling unfortunately have to put up with this noise. That said, the food is good.

Love the staff, all very friendly, service is great.
Food is ok, but if you are charging 40$ for an entree (this was not a surprise, we knew the price range before we went), then you should be doing something to make a 40$ dish.
The menu sounds lovely, the specials sound awesome, the execution needs some work, again, nothing wrong with it, but nothing fabulous with it either.

Excellent service tasty food at a reasonable price, extensive wine list. The view was lovely and although it is located upstairs from a bowling alley, it was quiet. Definitely will return.
