Fish tacos and fries were good, but not remarkable. The rib grilled cheese was dry and flavor so so. French onion soup had very mixed reviews but my favorite soup so I ordered it but returned it was very bland and watery. Had a vodka cranberry and I drank it but do t think it was a good quality vodka and wasn’t very strong.

Place is charming but pretty quiet for Labor Day. Waitress was lovely and gave us tips on local sites. Tlt is on 2nd floor of a historically registered building so no ADA and stairs are steep.

Overall good food and drinks. It can be very loud inside so it will be hard to have a conversation at times. They ribs are REALLY good.

We got the burger, which was great, and chicken with orange glaze, which was a bit too sweet for my taste. Nevertheless great place, very good service, easy parking and nice vistas of the surrounding mountains.

Steer clear of the Shepherds pie. Its actually a Cottage pie (made with ground beef as opposed to ground lamb) and it was really dry, boring and tasteless. What a shame. We asked our server very nicely for lemon slices for our water but she forgot, and my wifes drink was forgotten too. Finally the on tap blonde ale was very much a dry pilsner...nothing like a blonde ale... But hey ho..overall it was OK..

We planned to go here all week and waited until Wednesday because it was listed as open on Wednesday at 4pm. It was not actually open.
Hot toddies were incredible. We ordered the meatballs, French onion soup, Shepherds pie to share. 12/10

The Mammoth Tavern is a cozy little spot to grab some dinner in town. Do expect a line at peak times, and the wait can get long as they have something for the whole family. Good, no nonsense foods on this menu. Their caesar salad was absolutely delicious and would recommend for anyone. Otherwise the menu is nice and hardy. As they do get busy, so can the staff and would recommend sitting at the bar if its just you or for 2. Mammoth Tavern is worth a visit if you’re in town for some powder.

Expect a never ending wait, slow service, and MID food. Staff running around aimlessly, felt bad because they looked overwhelmed and understaffed. Food came out wrong, but no biggie. Food tastes exactly as it looks in the Google photos if that makes sense. $22 for the burger felt like robbery. Nothing “premium” about it; dry patty, veggies sloppily slapped in-between the buns, bland. Would I wait an hour again to eat here? No. Would I come back if there was no wait and I wanted to sit at the bar for beers? Sure.

Excellent service. We arrived and were told it would be a 2 hour wait, but were welcomed to wait in a bar area serving several wine and beer options. Nonetheless we waited significantly less than that before we were seated. I had the short ribs here, hands down best short ribs I’ve ever had. We cane here after trying to find a place to eat in the village and bring turned away at every restaurant due to how busy it was. Save your time and come straight here, you won’t regret it.

Our visit to Mammoth Tavern was, without exaggeration, one of the most unpleasant dining experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, the front desk lady made it abundantly clear that our presence was an inconvenience. No greeting, no menus—just a curt gesture to a cramped community table that felt like the least desirable spot in the entire restaurant.
We have a 2-year-old, so dining out is already a careful balancing act, but the staff here made absolutely no effort to be accommodating. In fact, it felt like they were actively trying to make us uncomfortable until we got the hint and left. The rudeness was palpable, and the lack of basic courtesy was shocking.
To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. If you’re looking for a place that values customers and treats them with even a shred of respect, I’d strongly suggest going elsewhere. This place clearly doesn’t care.
