We decided to have breakfast before we head up to Yosemite. I stopped at this bakery. We have the cheese croissant, which is fantastic, but they had another side that had sandwiches and soups which we did not get to try. The staff was very friendly and very helpful and be aware that there’s some somewhat of a line.

I had a very good sandwich and you get to pick everything you want on the sandwich. They also had other things like cookies and bread and a number of other items. Everything was tasty.

Quality is good, but service and atmosphere are average…and prices have gotten very high…too high.

After experiencing the GREAT Schats bakery in Bishop we were super excited to visit the one in Mammoth Lakes. The outside looks promising, the pastries looked lovely! But then!... Very unfriendly lady at the counter who dumped our almond croissant in a dirty bag, and told us it was 8 dollars for ONE CROISSANT?! We are great pastry lovers, and this croissant was not filled with almond paste, but with a sugary artificial, tasteless paste. I am very disappointed for my 1 dollar per tasteless bite. We were so disappointed that I had to review this negatively, which I normally never do (only rate when it's good). Skip here, go to Bishop instead.

I tried to order a birthday cake from here. Would call and was told to call back the next day so I'd call and was told to call back again. Called back and got voicemail. I really wanted to support this local place. instead I'm bringing a cake up from LA.

Gem in Mammoth. Strawberry vanilla cream danish is perfection!! I'm a pastry chef and this dough is very difficult to get right......it was light and airy and fresh without being dried out....PERFECT. The 'Canolli' (with a Dutch twist) was AMAZING.....very crispy exterior w/nuts and filled with a delicious Bavarian cream. It's a must-try. 3rd I highly recommend the raspberry jam filled shortbread!!! Well worth the stop!

They had the best carrot cake I've ever had. The eclairs weren't the best and can be avoided. Overall, it was a bit pricey. We got four small slices for $40.

Quality baked goods and homey atmosphere. Long line, but it was worth it.

Heads up: If you don’t take a bag at checkout, the owner might come running after you accusing you of stealing—like when she thought I made off with two jam jars.

The bakery is nice and has lots of options of baking goods! A bit on the pricey site, but that’s Mammoth-it’s normal
